Is there a bridge to migrate #instragram content to #nostr so that it’s easy for people to bring their stuff over (like there is for x)?
#asknostr
So many friends and creators will find friction if they can’t bring over the content they have lovingly posted to create their feed over the years. Know many people that view instagram like their album of life. Sooooo looking forwards to bring them over to #grownostr 🔥

Olas is basically dead, lasted for like a month. So i doubt it.
Who didn’t see that coming
It’s technically not their content if it’s on Instagram.
And it didn’t really offer “content migration” as much as a similar ux/ui 😅
Yep, but if they migrate it to nostr they could begin the procesa of having it be theirs :)
i am curious about using music in videos and posting it on nostr…insta has the music library but nostr?
No client that i know of is really optimized for editing and music addition to be added in the client level (yet)
Are you talking an automatic bridge that just pulls the posted content from Instagram to nostr or just a Instagram styled client? If you're looking for a client check out @Derek Ross You can also use Waves from @franzap or Amethyst on @Zapstore Android to view/post media content.
Zappix - Social Image Sharing on Nostr
Share and discover amazing images on the decentralized Nostr network. Built with React, TailwindCSS, and Nostrify.
Was talking about pulling the content out of insta to post on a mirror account on nostr from which to continue posting on nostr directly :)
Just to make it leas painful for normies to migrate to nostr withou having to feel they have to leave the work of years behind
Yeah that'd be a great tool to have. I'm not familiar with FB's API offerings but after a quick search it looks like you might be able to build a bridge for Business/Creator accounts for continuous use but seems FB locks down a lot of the normie user data. I think you'd have to make the user do a data backup then import that backup zip to a conversion site to generate the posts from old data. Seems feasible though!
Oh how i wish i were a dev 😭🙃
Hopefully somebody find the utility worth the hassle at some point. I’m sure it might help people migrate away from insta if they can take their baggage with them :)
Thanks for looking into it anyway :)
No, screw asking for permission. I think it's possible to find media URLs and save them like indown.io does.
Otherwise, look into Apify to use an Instagram scraper.
Are you down to build something like this?
I have to admit it wasnt front of mind for me but I can see the value to hopefully bring more creators over. If no one else builds it and I hear many people requesting I'd definitely be down to give it a look though.
Is this something that could be added into Lumina? @Laeserin 🇻🇦 @highperfocused ⚡
I'm not interested. I'm focused on people who own their own images.
Precisely, the whole point would be for people who don't currently own them to have a bridge to walk towards where they do.
I thought about this idea also a few times now. Maybe I hack something together when I got some free minutes
Doesn't Instagram have some sort of archive-download? Like Twitter does?
Would just need to figure out how to import that archive, I guess.
Yeah, but I'm working on an Immich bridge. Totally different use case.
They offer the possibility for users to request downloading a backup either in json or html
But they make you wait 24h/48h to make it available for download and the download link expires in 3-4 days
What kind of bridge is that? 🙃
