Why humanoid? If you design robot for specific task, do not go with general design. for this task is humanoid suboptimal. Maybe wheeled? Or maybe 4 leged?

No, it doesn’t look like a terminator at all…… Humanoid because it’ll scare us, and probably less than 20% of people’s first reaction is resistance

Yeah or flamethrowers. Or full auto guns mounted to the shoulders with a canister of ammo on the back. What I don’t understand is, why does it have to walk? Wouldn’t a non-humanoid robot be easier to design and build?
There is a theory out there that they are trying to pilot the narrative that “it is good for robots to replace people”. To get people comfortable with the idea, they first replace the jobs that people are generally accepting shouldn’t be done by a human. Then tier in other jobs. The “replacing humans” part hits further if they are humanoid. Makes the acceptance of the narrative stick better once it takes hold.
