Same, I sort of came to the conclusion that it must be deliberately confusing at this point like a barrier of entry. Sort of like a retro returning to the confusion of early internet lol

telegram is really good; only 80% bloated with unnecessary shit and the fact that it doesn't pretend to be e2e, and the fact that you're russia is getting the metadata instead of the NSA

It's bloatware now. I've always liked apps with lots of customizing/settings, but it's almost too much. I barely use it anymore.

There's a lot of bloat on it for sure, but it's good imo (not the team and their decisions though, as well as their control of it). Looking forward when a dev makes a "Nostrod")

I really don't understand why so much project and especially FOSS projects are using Discord. At least FOSS projects could use one of the many open source messenger solutions.
Every service that is dependat on DNS, or having registration that is not based on generated private key is trash. It is time to free, open, decentralized world.
