I dare you make #monero zaps a thing
You should have met fluffy pony…nice guy. He would also tell you ring signatures are too big for high volume use.
there was already a amethsyt fork that had monero tipping cant remember the name.
dont think anyone is supporting it anymore tho
Who /where?
They love promoting the coin but they all cheap and probably never spend it. . Or they'r scared theyl get kycd. Haven't gotten a penny.
They've been tipping me more than I get in Lightning, for months.
Of course you aren't allowed to show anyone.
How tf can anyone tip you in Monero without a Monero address in your profile? lmao
They’re coming up in the world 😂

It's in my payment targets and visible on my profile page on some clients.
I was watching some marketing podcasts and they kept repeating the point that engineers invariably reach for technical solutions, but often there are simple workflow changes that can do the same thing. And they often solve **the customer's real problem** better than the complex techy stuff.
Forget about on-chain zaps. Here are payment targets integrated into the zap interface.
You are welcome, Nostr. GM.

They’re thrilled to finally have somewhere to spend it.
the bigger the tips the bigger the cell 😅
They should definitely spend it on Nostr! 💖
I'm trying to get some relay devs to accept Monero payments, as well.
I also pay for my vpn with Monero.
🤣 if you say so
Well…bitcoiners really shit the bed on this place, so being it on, I guess.
Was asking @Hofer99
Just what nostr needs, more crypto bros 😭
Oh, okay.
I can see your payment targets. 🙂
I'm working on the Monero handler. Trying to figure out how to open it directly in Cake Wallet, on click. A bit tricky.

Nostr is for enemies.
If Bitcoiners had more marketing sense (well, then we wouldn't be floundering like we are, but I digress), we would all know that getting people who prefer other payment methods (even -- gasp! -- fiat) to use Nostr _also_ increases the number of people who onboard to Bitcoin.
A small slice of a huge pie can be larger than a very tiny pie.
Or, as we say in Germany:
> Competition is good for business.
Dont worry, I heard bitcoin just hired a new “CMO” so I’m sure that’s gonna turn the whole ship around. 🤣
When I orange pill someone they don't have a address either. I hook em up with one.
When I ask the moneroe bros for some moneroe to get my toes in the door they say I should go pound sand.
I still remember on X going back and forth with the kaspa bros why its so great. I finally just say send me some. The dude sent me 40 bucks worth. I feel like moneroe bros don't like the network effect or moneroe pilling people.
Zaps are a massive infrastructure project, so no.
I have only received Nostr tips in Monero. Never once Bitcoin via the Silent Payments address in my profile.
we're you the big tipper 😁 asking for a friend
Hard cap makes people stingy. It's baked into the incentives.
It is an interesting thing this community and Bitcoin keep running into. When something is built in a way that no one can control, or gatekeep, and anyone can use it, the value of that isn't fully understood by many people who believe freedom tech is important.
It can't be permissionless and trust minimized AND we're able to stop <insert despicable group> from using it.
Not even if I double dare…?
But seriously, understandable.
I'm the wrong person to ask. Nostr client devs don't build zaps, they just enable them. Zapping is wallet/node feature.
That garnet app was a Monero wallet. I'm not building a wallet.
bchnostr are around the corner 👍
How do you go about hooking up someone with a Monero address? How would that even work? You expect someone to create a wallet for you and hand you the private key? If you're too lazy to even download a wallet and create an address to put on your profile (exactly what you did with your lightning wallet so I know you can do it) idk what to tell you. Seems like you don't care about being tipped with Monero that much.
If users like what you have to say people will tip you but there is no obligation. The entitled attitude you give off doesn't help either.
Shut up. Monero secured. You suck. Monero rocks.
Stop bitching and start helping people.. gawd you people suck.
Pure projection
You're the only person that started bitching about no one giving you Monero 😂
I wonder why
Why do you suck so much? Like I said monero secured. Stop bitching start helping people. You so useless😄
I wonder why
Yes, I'm useless to YOU because I won't give YOU money. Like I said, you're an entitled whiny fuck. Now piss off.
Your useless to everyone. Less bitching more helping. I dunno why your even talking. You got nothing.
It is a thing
What client you currently using for that?
Cant zap ya
I spend mine at quite a few places
Any other way really makes no sense imho.
I just put a Monero address in my profile. It hasn't been faciliated by any client features. I use Damus, and Will seems belligerently opposed to implementing payment targets.
Oh ok. I know there are a few with integration so thoughy maybe you were using one of em
Hey, cool. Thanks.
My Minibits wallet never works, but I also accept Monero. 😁
On Garnet?
you could just hop on jumble.imwald.eu and put in your payment targets though right?
Nah, that's no longer maintained. Nosmero.com is one. Cant think of any others at the monent but got some bookmarked on my pc
I actually already render both of his lightning addresses and the monero address. They're on his profile event.
But if he wants Amethyst and the other apps to also see those addresses, he should add them to a payment target event, as that's now the standard.
Just got one thru and it went to a cake ln addy
Yes, I got it and confirmed it, so it's now a superchat at the top of the thread. **My first superchat!** 🤩
Okay, I'll render the Monero tip receipts from Garnet and Nosmero, analog to the Lightning zap receipts. Then they can be attested to and turned into superchats, if the recipient wants to.
It's Iive. I won't know if it works or not until someone sends me some kind 9736 or 1814 events, to play with.

Monero units are closer to USD unit, so people probably end up sending ~1 USD values, where sats are much smaller units and people psychologically anchor to 21 or 100 sats, etc with much smaller USD values.
Ecash app zap seems to be working. For now!
That's true.
Reminds me that I wanted to add a conversion display on the amounts field. So that everyone can see what the sat amount would be in fiat or traditional Bitcoin notation. As an orientation and typing-check.
