We converted with the exact same exchange rate to the euro this January. 1 euro = 1.95583 BGN. We used to be anchored to the Deutschmark, 5 leva for 5 marks. They kept the exchange rate fixed for 30 years, while inflating away our currencies. I used to buy lunch in school for 0.20 EUR. Now it’s 50x that for kids in school.
