Side topic: I would add that non-profit businesses can only exist once profit has been made on other projects/businesses

Ie there is investment opportunities in actual revenue generating and profitable businesses

Yep! The few I see are very interesting to follow.
For profit small business necessitates honesty. The market sniffs out dishonesty and expunges it. It's those wildly successful businesses, as they were dying of vices, shook hands with the devil and accepted the uneven trade of their soul for filthy fiat.
