This is especially true for all home repairs / improvements.
Probably because doers are natural optimists and consequently the estimate is best case ~10% confidence objectively. The 90% confidence is probably 4X as large but that might stop the optimist from beginning. So go doing you-can do natural optimist you. And don’t be surprised it takes 4X as long.
