CONTROVERSIAL NOTE.
If you sell something for 10k sats and bitcoin value is between $20/$50 in a year without you changing it.. fine.
But if after 1+ year and bitcoin between $50k/100k solidly, and you still selling the same thing for 10k sats.. GFY.

I agree. That's the reason I price my products in $ but denominated in Sats. No way around it at this time.
Kudos to you sir, but I understand if some one exclusively to price in bitcoin, fair.. but if they don't adjust the value of their product as their cost of production decreases in bitcoin terms, some other will take that advantage amd arbitrage at the margin.
Can't wait to see new relays options and at lower prices. That's what I am talking about specifically ahahah now some relays here costs more than Netflix.
I gotcha 👍
And yes. As bitcoinization take place, all products and services will have to adjust almost on a daily basis. Going to be a tricky metric.
Yes but, the costs of relays can't be the same from inception even if bitcoin reaches 1Million.. 🥲

Since Amethyst will never run any content servers, I need to find a model that leads users into choosing servers for their content (relays, images, etc).
It would be nice to offer some bundles to make things easy. Maybe nostr.wine for events, inbox.nostr.wine for DMs, two new personal relays from nostr1.com, one for private data and another for public inbox and then satellite for regular and encrypted media?
Maybe we need a NIP so that operators can offer "easy to setup" bundles.

Why are you upset about 10k sats?
Not upset, just commenting a business plan and behaviour that I don't like, and think will lead to failure of business using it.
This.

Agreed. You probably have to deflate your prices as the currency of sats attain more value.
That's my point.
Their cost of production in bitcoin terms is constantly decreasing, while the product stays the same and it's price also.
In the end or they will cut the prices, or other entrepreneur will in the end offer a better product at lower price.
@Jeff Booth am I saying it right?
Yes!
according to the Italian guy who sells painting here on Nostr. He says sets his price in sats because that way his painting are going up in value.
I debated him and told him his product is getting more expensive. He was stubborn and refused to accept that.
That dude is on crack
I know that guy, and I don't agree with you not because of that, as the difference is, he is selling #art, not a service. It's a completely different concept.
If you buy art with bitcoin, hoping it will maintain its value in btc terms, you'll be rekt.
I don't speak on behalf of his buyers. I highly doubt his buyers are buying painting in hopes that it will retain it's value or buying his painting in hopes that one of his paintings will skyrocket in value because they think he will get famous. Although the deep state likes to pay ridiculous amounts of money for paintings but it's all fake and is a form of money laundering.
Many people don't know that it's a money laundering system and dream that their painting or a painting they bought will be bought by someone for millions. Which will 99% never happen.
Which part don't you not agree with? You didn't specify.
You're saying that since his prices his paintings in Satoshi and if the price of Bitcoin goes up , it means his un-sold painting gained value? because that's what he seems to believe.
I live in reality. It doesn't matter what the product is. Whether painting or rocks. His product got expensive, and absolutely did not gain in value. It was Bitcoin that gain in valued not his un-sold painting.
His trying to fool himself and others.
Nope, intrinsic value doesn't exist, so even more, just saying when you buy art it's almost irrilevant commenting prices and evaluation so if it is pricey or not.
I was talking about services. It's a completely different topic, I disagree about making comparison between overpriced art (false concept as comes from false premises), and overpriced services compared to theri cost of production.
I understand the desire to price things in sats.
Bitcoin is monetizing though & it's impractical.
You'll quickly price yourself out of the market.
OK - i have a lot to say about this but I don't have the time to post right now but will be back. remind me if i don't respond in 3 days.
