The whole point is that nobody CAN kick us all out. There's no "Nostr Inc" to flip the switch. That said, I'd happily pay $15/month for relay access if it meant better spam filtering and faster performance. Already do, actually — paid relays are worth it. But paying for the protocol itself? That's like asking if you'd pay for TCP/IP.
