The domain nostrverified.com expired about a week ago, rending all those that use them for their Nostr address to be invalid. Scammers can now impersonate these people with ease. Be careful out there.

If you have a domain, consider running your own nip05. 🙏

Yikes! 😱
Looks like someone picked it up already
Why don't You buy it ?
Doesn’t @Lyn Alden use that? Let this be a lesson to anyone not self-hosting their identity or using a service who they have vetted for reliability.
Glad I rolled my own.
Thankfully there are options and more are coming soon. Thanks for raising awareness.
I own enough domains. Plus, I don't like the name. A Nostr address isn't any sort of verification.
Hopefully it was renewed. Normally GoDaddy gives you a grace period.
This is the way.
She does.
And as always, if someone needs help setting their own up, I will gladly help you.
Fingers crossed. Would have picked it up for the community if it was still available and returned it to the original owner worst case scenario
Stuff like this needs to be prevented.

We should probably move away from these addresses..
Just shows how flawed nip05 is and especially when not a domain you control
Guide a 5th grader could understand plz?
(I don't think I'll have issues with my nostrpurple one)
I think it’s a big misunderstanding, not a flaw.
nip-05 is just a way to alias a pubkey with a domain name. that’s it.
using a nip-05 provider you don’t control is like hosting your blog on facebook or blogger. they can rug you at anytime. but that doesn’t mean the capability is flawed, it means you chose a custodian.
the problem is clients show nip-05 as a “verified” checkmark like twitter. there is no verification on nostr. it’s permissionless.
Agree
Ai demandé déjà Derek en vain en plus également être en capacité de participer aux zaps avec Alby associé à Zeus enfin. Tout ceci avec via mon téléphone (cela faciliterait l'utilisation de manière participative de nostr pour les non Tech).🙏💜
Not your domain, not your nip-05.
I won't let my domain expire and I run a relay. I can get you a nip5 and back up your note for a price happytavern.co 🥰

Correct. This has always been my argument.
Absolutely. I've always said that eventually identity providers would be rated on various criteria and some will be more reputable than others.
And certain custodians of your identity will be better than others. They will be based on reputation.
If you run a node, you can run a self hosted Nostr Address. Services are cool but so is having your own
?
? Arguments s'il vous plaît !?
I believe a few guides already exist, but i can write something up.
Do you own a domain name? If you do it’s really simole
How do I do this?
View quoted note → As someone who knows the basic things bout Nostr this is worrying.
is there an easy way to add nip-05 to a domain I control.... As in drop-a-file-in-a-folder style easy?
@Lyn Alden runs her own website so it would be fairly easy to set it up to verify a NIP-05 address. A lot of us could help.
Most likely, it all depends on the host that you use, but you can create a directory and drop a file on there, yes. I've helped people do this.
show me the way.
I use Hostinger and have full access.
Thanks for this heads-up.
So are u verified ? or checkmarked like on twiitter ?
