Shocking, shocking I tell you.

The people involved with discord are shady as heck. They can't be trusted at all. Here is an example... Back around 2020 there was a guy by the name of Christian Westbrook who had a thing going on under the name "Ice Age Farmer". It was all about lifestyle resiliency and moving away from the centralized control system we currently live in. Lots of homesteading stuff, permaculture, apolitical dialog. Dangerous stuff like that. There was a Discord server where thousands of people would hang out. Ice Age Farmer really started getting traction, and out of nowhere a single anonymous account posted a few nazi related things which always happens on any online forum when you get enough people. The moderators took the posts down as usual. Then Discord deleted the entire server without warning or notice, citing hate speech as the reason. These same people knowingly host pedo rings and human trafficking networks on their platform. It was clearly an engineered take down. It's also clear that Discord is not at all what it appears to be.

privacy promises are often just marketing copy until the lawyers rewrite them. "trust us" is rarely a substitute for verifiable code and sovereign keys. build your own garden.
