So my dinner choices are lentil fusilli noodles with beef ragu or tamale pie.

The first option just sounds too interesting to pass up on. Had some home made ramen last night. Rare treat, as it's not something we normally attempt, but got some sort of "healthy" ramen noodles other day and had to try.
He's getting leftover noodles and ragu because he chuckled when I said tamale pie π. Fyi, it's like a pot pie but it has a cornbread top and Mexican spices in the filling.
What are these "healthy" ramen noodles? We do lentil pasta for the most part because they aren't a gross sub for real pasta.
Lemme look for the package... I didn't wanna get bogged down in details, but after reviewing ingredients we were somewhat disappointed that they may not be as healthy as hoped. Still gonna eat them. In the meantime, here's a pic of the meal (wishing I'd taken a better pic now, but oh well)

Was a variety pack we ordered, but here's one of them, fwiw π€·ββοΈ

Looks yummy! π«
Rice vermicelli or alternatively "glass noodles" can be a good replacement.
Was a nice change of pace. We got burned ordering ramen out the last two times and decided to do it ourselves this time. Room for improvement, but enjoyable
I love glass noodles, the bouncy texture is so fun
Try these, if you drain well and give them a little hot saute (so they arenβt wet) they are a pretty good alternative to grain pasta. Nice and springy like ramen.

It's always easy to improve once you try it. It's the trying that's always the hard part.
Nuders!
Looks like they're somewhere between rice and glass noodles? Who knew there were so many noodly people on the nostr.

But muh meat only broooooo
I've used the ones John recommended when eating low carb before. They have almost no digestible carbs. Very useful for keto stir fry.

Iβm very noodley
Once I started experimenting with Asian cuisine I became a lot more noodlish
Poison I tell ya! All of 'em!
Asian recipes definitely opened my eyes to allllll the noods
Asian chefs be like "send noods"
Insert obv joke here. I feel like such a redditor sometimes with these replies, so be it
Not even the filthiest pickup line Iβve gotten lately π€£
No joke is too obvious here
Do you cook them like the glass noodles? We're not doing any sort of special diet, just like lower calorie/healthier options.
The shiritaki I used were sold in a pack with liquid. You rinsed them, then have them a quick fry in a pan before using.
I prefer glass noodles myself, but they are both good.
π€ I'll keep an eye out. Whatever is readily available at the grocery is what will win π€·ββοΈ
Itβs usually with the weird vegan cheese and tofu stuff.
Do they not sell them dried in the states?
Iβve actually never seen them dry not sure they can come that way.
You can make your own with like 2 ingredients, i haven't successfully done it tho. May save some cash if you do it regularly
The flavor of this noodle is absolutely not worth making it from scratch. Iβll do semolina noodles though when Iβm feeling ambitious. Make gnocchi probably once a year

Whenever man Id love it. I can get the NDAs written up
You don't understand, it's literally squeezing fiber gel into acid water, ~5 minutes
You just described a chemistry experiment
Two Johns?! There can be only one! π‘οΈ β‘οΈ
Itβs the inverse of the Shakespearean reference to the name of a rose in relation to its scent. But I also love Other John.
I've heard that one is naturally inclined to dislike another they meet wihh to the same name. Some type of rivalry in subconscious. Checks out in my experience
If Johnβs followed Highlander rules it would be a flood of blood. We are legion.
