I have a list of banned bots and gay porn spammers so long I almost quit nostr.

The only thing in my life i ever tried to block and failed doing so were the reply guys and people i don't know sending me random dm's on platforms where it would prevent them from seeing if i was online or not.
Specifically in public discourse i would still like to see what a person is saying, even if it is something mean or annoying on a personal level. It has never gotten to the point where i felt i needed to not see their messages.
That being said maybe i've just never been really harassed.
My life is better without him in it 😂. It's probably fine now, he was just the new toy for a while. Kind of like the meat doctor, I was getting ready to mute that one but he disappeared I think.

I've never found mute for real people particularly useful with few exceptions. Determined trolls and poorly configured bots are more worth filtering.
Trick is: mute bots and scammers, not people you disagree with 💜

That was one thing I noticed when I first spun up my account. Was some weird fucking posts about incest and shit like that. Only for the first week or two though.
