Hu. What kind of law do you practice?

I’ve got two main practices, a growing bitcoin consultancy everything from custody to the sovereign tech stack beyond bitcoin, and consulting other lawyers and clients on wtf it is so they know how to, for example, explain it to a judge if its relevant to their dispute or how to go about trying to collect on a judgement from someone they believe to have “Crypto”. My main area of practice in terms of earning a living is Business Litigation and Litigation Risk Assessment/Mitigation.

the situation in most legal systems is they have a type of taxable entity called a "natural person". just to repeat: taxable entity. i found out the hard way it's better to register for this tax "person" category when one is a freelancer. corporations have wind-up costs that are ridiculous, and as happened in my case, they granted zero of my refunds for EU VAT on my working hardware and software costs. idk if my bookkeepers were bullshit or what but honestly the only way i'm doing any of that shit is if i can manage it myself. claude is fantastic at navigating legislations and most likely i would actually get my goddamn refunds this way. idk why anyone thinks 20% sales tax is ok, but fuck the EU, that's why i'm leaving, that's such a drag on my ability to accumulate. i'm 50 years old still with no home, and i actually think that most people don't realise they are effectively homeless the moment the government decides it. i'm moving somewhere that it's honest and i pay a long term lease on my land, fine, that's how it is, governments claim superior title. better to deal with the thing as it actually is than pretend that you can be a sovereign. maybe in some future world after this fiat world falls apart but that will probably also mean the collapse of the internet and technological production systems. so i'm planning accordingly.

mainly, highest elevation, greatest distance from the ocean, and moderately insulative ground that doesn't attract lightning strikes so much. i've got in mind the northern central region near Darkhan, not so dry as the rest of mongolia but also nearby a university town and with the inevitable decent music scene which i already know is quite good in darkhan. ulaanbatar is too dense and industrialised in comparison, and in a drier part of teh country. to be honest, i already started talking about the idea in 2012 and i probably shouldn't have shelved it. balkans is borderlands EU but caving in in the generational timetabel.

i spent 6 months there also, living in an apartment in the commieblock near the national police station (endless yapping dogs). the way the river is the center of everything makes cycling very practical. the steep sides of the city on teh eastern side are ridiculous though. my number one fave city in balkans tho is sofia. i'd still be happy to live there now except i have plans to move more east. budapest and istanbul are not bad from what i've seen, a lot more time in budapest. but when orban fell that was the end of budapest for me, and my legal situation in croatia is retarded. i didn't think it would be so complicated but let's just say the liberlander who owns where i'm staying - an abandoned place, really, it means i can't get tax registration without moving somewhere else and why would i want to be within shengen in the state of things these days?

I didn’t understand some of this but yes. I lived up on the south side of the city above the fog line where all the wood burning fire clouds settle so in the morning it looked like I was living in a cloud city. Gorgeous

yeah, the old town is good, and the commie extension down the river, but the new section down in the valley in the south is weird. the most pleasant part is the hill districts on the south side, but it's hell on a bicycle.
