In my prep for my interview with @Jack K & @PlebNick, I stumbled upon this great text on page 220 out of 222 of their doc "Bitcoin: The Architecture of Time" (link below):
"At the deepest level, Bitcoin seems less like a tool humanity invented and more like a frequency humanity discovered. Something that was always available, waiting for a species capable of bearing the weight of permanence. It does not coerce, it invites. It does not command belief, it demands discernment. It does not tell us what to inscribe, only forces us to recognize that inscription matters.
One senses, reading the chain, that our part in this experiment is to participate, to choose with care what is worth memorializing and what must be allowed to vanish. For perhaps the true measure of a civilization is not what it produces or consumes, but what it commits to eternity.
What we choose to inscribe will remain after we no longer can. The ledger will keep our memory long past our breath, and time will settle it deeper than stone. It is strange to stand at the edge of a medium that does not forget. Stranger still to realize that such a medium arrived only when we became ready to witness it. The chain will outlast our excuses. Somewhere beyond all of it, one is left with the unmistakable sense that permanence was never ours to invent, only ours to accept."
