It seems like core thinks that if Luke just goes away everything will be fine, but I don’t think people really are following Luke as much as they’re reacting to how core was moving.
The nice part is that it’s much easier to smooth things over with your users than to make someone disappear

Yes it’s not a pro-knots movement. Users want to be heard.
I think alternative architectures will help improve the situation. Bitcoin's success shouldn't rest entirely on Core's shoulders.
Libbitcoin's architecture is promising, and if they had more resources it would be very profitable for the ecosystem.
