We have to pay in our attention and time, and to access it, be in a country that allows it, but even still there are a ton of "free" resources that increase our quality of life. Boardgamearena.com has free games one can play, especially with players who do pay for access 👆😇
Zapping can fix our free consumption habits. If you ease payment method and contribution ways, people are willing to pay for value. Bitcoin and lightning can solve this.
Because software is almost free to replicate .. but #AI is hardware ! The gotccha in #Google #Meta model is they can fund AI for billions through ad revenue.. nope .. that is how bigtech fails ! Only enterprise shall pay for AI tools .. and they will be so strict cost benefit .. Opportunity is for the interim phase .. where Google and meta are funding the use .. build nostr during this unique window !
The developers also have that mindset. They love working for free and giving out their products for free. Since Bitcoin came to be, if I have a service I won't even allow anyone to register for free. They must pay. No freeloaders. It has completely destroyed spam. The free mentality will change over time and it starts with users like me who refuse to open up my relay for free. You must pay!
If so many things were not free on the internet, then we might not be on it so much. We might just focus on our homes and relationships. Just like we weren't on our phones so much when we paid per minute.
There is a culture of tipping for drinks and good and vag carrying and delivering papers. With online music and movies there wasnt a mechanism to microtip. Now there is. A culture change is possible. And one change should be to dump any company with a business model built on data mining. The tech is here, so there is no excuse now for good people saying they behave badly because they are swimming in a bad system. .
We turn the tables. Free access to public data, and then the businesses apps are “on the hook” to be monitored and censored.

I'm doing my part, blocking all ads on the internet. Maybe one day more services will ask me for money for what they offer.
I started giving lessons away for free (on YouTube) when I started as an online tutor, as I had read a book called 'Wikinomics', and it inspired me. The idea of giving away free stuff is actually a marketing trick, cleverly disguised as simple generosity.
