#Ireland A big reason our leaders can’t make any changes is because the EU will sanction us for them In my opinion the protestors have perfectly pinched the system and proved two things to everyone 1. Democracy is dead 2. Ireland is not a real nation state I know everyone here knows this but everyone in Ireland is getting a a big sample of it @Efrat Fenigson @Joe Nakamoto @HODL View quoted note →

This has all been a clusterfuck from the get go. Our government handling of this has been a fucking joke. The refusal to meet the 4 men representing the protesters (invite sent, invite removed), That bully OCallaghan trying to link genuine good honest workers to the far right and Tim Robbins is an insult, deploying rhe army and now every Guard called to duty and the water canon warming up its engine? The government absolutely fucked this one up and turned their back on the citizens. A rag tag government FFFG on the full offensive. I hope this crushes them.
The gov is using the usual playbook same as canada did with the truckers, and won’t cede an inch to keep their corrupt privileges. Keep pushing toward a bitcoin standard where their chessboard tactics don’t matter
It was so sad, returning to Ireland after 24 years away, last summer. The amount of ‘you can’t’, ‘we aren’t allowed to’ I heard - especially in the rural areas, like Leitrim was heart breaking. And I am a firm believer that voting harder will not fix anything. That system is working as intended, and this may be its culmination.

Democracy is dead Hoppe is right that it’s a form of soft communism The longer this goes on the better Our government are so slow and so bad at making decisions that it could go on for a month or more Too many people clearly have nothing to little to lose given how many are showing up, helping out etc.

It looks like the blockade is now over People were removed at 3:30am from O’Connell Street The government won’t let this happen again The new Digital IDs will be used to enforce the law even sooner Roll on 2030 Roll on the grey markets #Ireland View quoted note →
