I want to go on record as having consistently said, for over 20 years, that having an uncontrolled border and constant mass-immigration is a communistic wet dream that will invariably lead to your country turning into a violent, poor, unstable shitshow. (That was always the goal!) And that the only way to reverse it would be so ugly that it's not worth getting into that position, for a second, even to see if it might not be "different this time". It wasn't different this time. It was so much worse. It's going to be increasingly ugly, going forward, and the same people that sold us this shitshow will curse us and despise us for trying to remedy it, but they have no solution. They have never had solutions. Buy Bitcoin and use Nostr. Best to be prepared. There are no good solutions. Just horrors without end and with ends.

Governments rob population with inflation. People need to flee. The government that takes them in needs to rob our children to pay for the socialism. The other side of the partisan trainwreck uses the socialist money printer to prop up the corporations. If they don't, they won't be able to pay for the socialism. That's what I'm opting out of anyway, using the only world wide free market in history as far as I know.
I definitely disagree on this point. Destroying the nation and undermining any ethnic ties within a community is the prerequisite to implementing communism. Communism requires sameness, anchorlessness, destruction of the (extended and nuclear) family, and a denial of the right to own and control access to property. Open borders are a clear means to these ends. I am aware that there are right-wing anarchists, but I consider that to be an oxymoron.
Yes, that's true. But leftists just see anarchism as the train they get on, to ride to the communist paradise. They are only against the state, if it isn't a communistic one. Which is a sensible, logical stance: anarchy as a tool for overthrowing the government and replacing it with a "better" government. Right-wing anarchists see anarchy as the paradise. So, they are eager to help the left-wing anarchists overthrow the government, and don't realize that they are just useless idiots and will be the first ones against the wall.
I strongly disagree with the last assertion. There is a good solution, but it is hard and takes a long time. We act like "western ideas" aren't actually better and won't affect people exposed to them. Maybe they aren't better if by "western ideas" we mean something other than authentic Catholic Christianity. But I have hope, because Catholicism is true and while truth will make a long slow triumph, it will triumph. Europe may eventually be all ethnic Africans, Arabians, and Asians, but they will be Catholic.
Well, I'll be a useless idiot then, all the while trying my best to make a better world, sans tyranny, for the futute generations of all the ungrateful slave minded statists. You are welcome. Government is slavery. Is now, always has been, always will be -Mark Passio

I'm super ashamed that it took a re-reading of Dune to "get this." (and this probably wasn't already clear because of Enlightment brainwashing) . But we are just mere humans riding the a wave of earthly events. Some things were set in motion in the past that now can not be influenced by normal people (e.g., "voters"). All we can control is how to properly orient ourselves to the wave that is coming. It really doesn't matter if we support or reject "x" thing. "x" things are now happening no matter if we like it or not. "x" is a reality, so how do we orient ourselves to "x" is happening. This isn't black pilling or defeatism. It's bringing ourselves into alignment with reality. Part of which is devoting energy to influencing what we can actually impact. Selves, family, friends. And part of that orientation is the prayer and church.....which is the only possible thing that we can influence the tide. But how that works..... is beyond me. Contrasted with serving political idols, which is giving energy to the wrong team. And wokism, which desires to make us morally culpable/guilty for things that you and I have no influence over.
They are becoming Catholic _without_ moving to Europe. Europe is a continent that they missionize, not the other way around. But that doesn't mean that the Catholics are the ones moving here. The people who kill Catholics over there, are the ones most eager to move here.
There is. We are paying people to move here and live on permanent vacation forever, and encouraging them to bring all of their friends and family along. We even pay for their flights. We could stop doing that. Our industry is collapsing and unemployment is rising and we are in a cold war, and we continue to pay people to move here. No one would move here, for 3 hots and a cot.
Yes, I know. Like I said, it is a hard solution. It requires that we live missionary lives in our own communities and maybe die as martyrs in them. But there are signs that immigrants are noticing and are converting. Not large numbers now, but the truth is always a small seed growing against a tide of evil.
Yes, I am aware of the conversions, but they need to have a strong Christian community to join. If the Christians all get martyred or driven out, they can then read about us in picture books. But they could read those books, without traveling. We could send them an e-book. This is the same integration question that the Germans thought they'd solve by simply flooding the country with foreigners. The new arrivals would all see how wonderful Germans are and want to be like them. But the new arrivals didn't see Germans. They saw other new arrivals. The Germans had been washed away. The Middle East didn't become more Christian, by Muslims overrunning the place. It became more Muslim. The Christians are almost all gone. Only the new converts and a few holdouts in Lebanon, or whatever. And they are often converting because of the Internet, rather than because of something where they are. The Bible is very convincing, if you just read it. And it's online, now.
> having an uncontrolled border and constant mass-immigration Which was effectively the case for long periods of American history with basically none of the problems described? I really have a hard time getting behind this entire argument if we aren't also pre-supposing a massive "free entitlement" welfare State. Like, beyond anything that exists in the USA. And even then, the consequence is State failure, something that my "dark accelerationist heart" doesn't really think is that bad of an idea. In a free market, immigration is naturally limited when jobs become scarce and housing becomes too expensive. Maybe things are different in the European context, but in America, I see immigration as a net win for society in terms of job creation and cultural diversity.
Yes, you have to have a strong Catholic community to join. Germany isn't that, it is rather the source of a large portion of the heresy and bad ideas of the last 1000 years. The reformation, Marxism, the Synodal way. It was never going to win anyone over. But there are good roots in pockets and those will draw converts. It may take centuries but it will happen.
USA had a ban on Muslim immigration, from the beginning and for the longest, and was sometimes at war with Algeria, Canad, or Mexico. Also, the idea that unlimited immigration has no negative effects would be news to the Native Americans. The European settlers didn't go there for the welfare state, for sure. And remember the Alamo. Also, technology and has made international travel much cheaper, faster, and easier, and the entrants are coming from further away and more alien cultures. And I never said that I was against all immigration. This is clearly an article against Open Borders policies.
Muslim bans existed under... Trump? I fail to see any other historical example. And I would consider those not great. And the 19th century wars with Mexico didn't come along with any robust (or even statutory?) system of immigration enforcement. As for Native Americans, this is another example where "migration" gets conflated with "State-sponsored violent colonization and intentional genocide." Nothing like is happening in any context here, nor is that anything like what "open borders" libertarians (of which I consider myself one) advocate. There's nothing inherently incompatible between open borders and a robust system of contracts and property rights.
Schengen borders include Greece's, Italy's and Spain's borders. Too many holes. Btw did you know that when illegal immigrants are in the sea, the border guards must give priority to their safety and for that reason the immigrant traffickers sink the ships? I don't know if this is known in general...
Yes, I knew that. I don't think you can plug all of the holes, nor is that necessarily desirable. It's about making unregulated crossing unattractive and removing the strong economic and legal incentives for coming here. It's not about locking out real asylum seekers, or simply preventing all immigration.
A border with no holes is one that you can't escape through. There are no guarantees, that we won't one day be the emigrants, after all. That's why I am not enthused about the recent overreaction, against all immigration. That is not a healthy or productive way to think about the cross-border movement of people. Have we all forgotten the DDR?

Mass migration works, if it is done Dubai-style. But giving everyone who crosses the border access to welfare and in the long run the possibility to vote will destroy the host country eventually
