Fuck time to goto white noise
white noise?
Its a nostr based private messanger. Its on the zapstore.
Any other good ones?
If they implement Amber login I would try it, but not feeling comfortable to put my nsec in

I love Deltachat. its basically just an encrypted folder on your email server.
but if we dont want to use that, why don't we all just use Keychat?
👀

Do you have to use your own email server, or is it a privacy improvement to do it?
I think ecash is needed to send messages in keychat, what could be good to onboard new people to ecash through keychat, but could also a to big of a hurdle to start using it
its a big privacy improvement to have your own but you can spin up an account using one of theirs easily.
I agree about ecash, but it seems like the idea hasn't caught on at all.
Would be nice to have an easy option for start9 or umbrel to set up an e-mail server and serve it to friends/family for deltachat (if possible and makes sense)
Setting up mailu through docker on start9 is possible.
Oh no. Now I have to try to do it😂
yeah
as long as its accessable...
my lan is behind CGNAT so my mailserver is in a vps
That's a better approach, I host mine out of a VPS as well. If one is willing to pay for a VPS, it's a more secure and easier option.
Oh true, it has to be easy accessible
So tell me, are you still a virgin?
Keychat users can choose which message relays to use — both free and paid ones — and they can also delete the default Keychat relay.
Therefore, it’s completely possible to use Keychat even without any ecash sats.
One of the reasons we built Keychat is that Signal only allows users to use servers operated by Signal itself. In contrast, with Keychat, users decide which message relay to use — we never force anyone to rely on a specific relay.

Thanks for the response.
Good to know, that one can use it completely without ecash. So it could be possible to use it as daily messenger app with friends and family more easily.
Co-operating with them at all will just give them reason to take more from you and anally screw you (sorry, your analogy has stuck) more easily because you are closer to them, and easier to reach.
Anonymity works well because even if they don't like what you do, they might shut down your platform, but will have a harder time throwing you in jail compared to a Pavel Durov or a Meredith Whittaker, should they suddenly decide to do so.

"Any users found breaking the law or violating the terms may be permanently banned from the platform."
https://xmrbazaar.com/terms/ you're funny on the paper, but staying the same compliancepunk than simplex
XmrBazaar was conceived as a project, as a marketplace for LEGAL goods and services. It was never designed to be yet another DNM. My job is to protect the platform and Doug personally (who is not anon, unlike me and our dev) from the state.
There's also a difference between *my personal views* and my professional duties (I joined XmrBazaar when the terms were already in place and voluntarily accepted them to work according to them :) ) because while I do not believe in state law, I believe in the common/community rules you voluntarily accept if/when you join and if you do not like them - you can leave freely (the problem with states - there is nowhere to "leave"), as I wrote once in chat:
"On the moral dilemma: I don’t have one. For the bazaar, I’m just a logic circuit -- my only job is to flag if a listing risks state-enforced legal trouble for all of us/platform. If I started imposing my morals, I’d ban sugar, all refined oils and carbs, alcohol, nicotine, and every state-legal / subsidized poison first. Go further down the 'Aillia knows best' path, and we’d end up with a world of miserable people...maybe a few Tibetan monks would be cool with my lifestyle choices, and possibly Jocko Willink or Bryan Johnson (and it's a big, big 'maybe' on those two, lol). So free will is the better bet for all, trust me: just provide full info and let people decide for themselves ;)
...Just realized that monks also won’t be happy, but for a different reason, lol."
Oh, and I just noticed you created this account to drop this one comment… ;)
I cannot describe in words how much I despise the word "legal".
And yes, I feel the same contempt when SimpleX (or any other FOSS) talks about "legality" bullshit.
"Legal" = buying/selling goods and services for which the state will not come after you (*for now*).
But most people don't understand this, and they also don't understand that there are no rules or legality, only the fact that the state, thanks to the trust in the fiat system on the part of the NPCs around you, has unlimited resources = they can start hunting you down at any moment. Even just for fun. Why not, if the NCPs around you perceive it as legal?
By the way, the fact that XMRbazaar has the ability to exchange crypto - fiat - crypto, is certainly cool, but it can still be regarded by a psychopathic state (any of them) as:
* financing terrorism
* money laundering
* money transmitter services
And yes, I know how multi-signature works, and that XMRbazaar does not hold users' money. :)
>>> If I started imposing my morals, I’d ban sugar, all refined oils and carbs, alcohol, nicotine, and every state-legal / subsidized poison first.
Hmm, a little bit of regulation in free trade... 😏
Kim Il Sung, the Father of the nation, would love that.
I made this account to use nostr and read monero posts lol and people can conduct illegal activities based on legal goods but anyway
