I said it once, I'll say it again about all the compliancepunks out there: 'Compliant privacy' is like... you can have triple anal and still be technically a virgin, right? (Pardon my French, but it’s the only analogy that fits... pun intended.) What is your plan if it's ABSOLUTELY impossible to comply with the future EU Chat Control Act AND still protect users' privacy? Evgeny Poberezkin, are you ready to be the next Ladar Levison? Can you publicly promise will SimpleXChat will follow Lavabit's path IF it's impossible to comply? https://x.com/themerit0crat/status/1983912852411801714 image image image image

Keychat users can choose which message relays to use — both free and paid ones — and they can also delete the default Keychat relay. Therefore, it’s completely possible to use Keychat even without any ecash sats. One of the reasons we built Keychat is that Signal only allows users to use servers operated by Signal itself. In contrast, with Keychat, users decide which message relay to use — we never force anyone to rely on a specific relay. image

Co-operating with them at all will just give them reason to take more from you and anally screw you (sorry, your analogy has stuck) more easily because you are closer to them, and easier to reach. Anonymity works well because even if they don't like what you do, they might shut down your platform, but will have a harder time throwing you in jail compared to a Pavel Durov or a Meredith Whittaker, should they suddenly decide to do so.

XmrBazaar was conceived as a project, as a marketplace for LEGAL goods and services. It was never designed to be yet another DNM. My job is to protect the platform and Doug personally (who is not anon, unlike me and our dev) from the state. There's also a difference between *my personal views* and my professional duties (I joined XmrBazaar when the terms were already in place and voluntarily accepted them to work according to them :) ) because while I do not believe in state law, I believe in the common/community rules you voluntarily accept if/when you join and if you do not like them - you can leave freely (the problem with states - there is nowhere to "leave"), as I wrote once in chat: "On the moral dilemma: I don’t have one. For the bazaar, I’m just a logic circuit -- my only job is to flag if a listing risks state-enforced legal trouble for all of us/platform. If I started imposing my morals, I’d ban sugar, all refined oils and carbs, alcohol, nicotine, and every state-legal / subsidized poison first. Go further down the 'Aillia knows best' path, and we’d end up with a world of miserable people...maybe a few Tibetan monks would be cool with my lifestyle choices, and possibly Jocko Willink or Bryan Johnson (and it's a big, big 'maybe' on those two, lol). So free will is the better bet for all, trust me: just provide full info and let people decide for themselves ;) ...Just realized that monks also won’t be happy, but for a different reason, lol." Oh, and I just noticed you created this account to drop this one comment… ;)

I cannot describe in words how much I despise the word "legal". And yes, I feel the same contempt when SimpleX (or any other FOSS) talks about "legality" bullshit. "Legal" = buying/selling goods and services for which the state will not come after you (*for now*). But most people don't understand this, and they also don't understand that there are no rules or legality, only the fact that the state, thanks to the trust in the fiat system on the part of the NPCs around you, has unlimited resources = they can start hunting you down at any moment. Even just for fun. Why not, if the NCPs around you perceive it as legal? By the way, the fact that XMRbazaar has the ability to exchange crypto - fiat - crypto, is certainly cool, but it can still be regarded by a psychopathic state (any of them) as: * financing terrorism * money laundering * money transmitter services And yes, I know how multi-signature works, and that XMRbazaar does not hold users' money. :) >>> If I started imposing my morals, I’d ban sugar, all refined oils and carbs, alcohol, nicotine, and every state-legal / subsidized poison first. Hmm, a little bit of regulation in free trade... 😏 Kim Il Sung, the Father of the nation, would love that.
