I have tested all the nostr iOS apps.
I still go back to Damus.
I can’t really quantify why.
A combo of speed, amazing legibility (can still be improved) two feed columns that I can switch between effortlessly. Settings are simple.
I love all the development that is happening. But more does not immediately mean better.
Plenty of things to improve in Damus, but still I can’t use any other client even though I put the effort to try.
My wishlist for Damus:
- remove link URLs from notes so they look even cleaner.
- add blossom support.
- improve note fetching (honestly, this should be a collective effort from all I feel not enough rebroadcasting happens here).
Will still be my daily driver for the forceable future.

thanks, its posts like this that motives me to keep working on it even though most people just say i fucking suck these days
I’ve only ever used Damus on iOS.
now that we have nostrdb integrated, i feel like its the right time to tackle outbox on ios... took awhile but should be super robust now to rogue relays
wanna here something funny 🤣 if I discovered nostr on a different Client I would have never stuck around or took this place serious 😂 😂 😂
It’s time. 🤙
And that’s fine.
no it's not. you guys are always trying to figure out why people don't stay. perhaps it's the damn apps they used on day one? you guys ever think of that? but i'm just the village mad man 😂😂
Damus is good but I gotta dogfood my gimpy client to fix it 🤣
nothing beats a client built for yourself
I can’t tell if this is secretly an insult 🤣
I don’t think that’s true buddy
Its not. Damus is built for myself and noone else (except when i get the same feedback from lots of people). This pisses off entitled people like corn when i don’t implement all the features he wants.
Ya know I’m testing halo too
Oh, you mean this issue that was opened two years ago and then closed as part of a backlog that still hasn’t been addressed?

Hide external link URLs · Issue #2187 · damus-io/damus
When a note contains an external link such as an article or YouTube video, Damus should hide the URL and only display the link preview. This would ...
Yes this one.
👀🤣

Links are already hidden tho so im confused

Hmmm… I guess maybe you are right.
Possible some npubs right their notes in a specific way that keeps them visible?

i think there are some scenarios where the links are visibile if there are multiple. but i could have swore @Terry Yiu went through and fixed a bunch of these edge cases
Possible.
I think I only see it when there are multiple nevent links.
That could be it.
But not all the time also, like the two images I just uploaded don’t have links. So multiple image uploads, no links.
Aren’t images simply old school URLs?
🤷♂️
It looks like some of the issues in this ticket were actually solved, so I’ll let you know if I find any others.
OK, took me two seconds to find one:

There goes my multiple nevent theory…
Seems like an edge case that makes this happen.
But of course, bad things are generally more visible even at the edges.
It was really right there in front of us as we spoke

Hey @Damus was the first client I ever used that made me come to Nostr. Deleted X, Reddit cause of your app and found my happy place. So hats off to you!
Still waiting for our RuneScape or WoW Classic session on a Nostr client … think big 😂
haha nostr game/mmo is something i've always wanted to do
I did an annual subscription to Damus Purple just because it was buttery smooth and felt well done lol, i only use primal on the web and just cope with bugs/friction but usually have to switch to my phone to do stuff like upload videos
I guess there is just no time for it. Imagine zapping some companions for a trade or decent tanking / healing skills 😍
