My interest in Nostr has lost its spark. I think I’m done being curious about it. I don’t know if it’s because I have a growing family I want to dedicate 100% of all that I have on them or Nostr and the internet in general have never really added any lasting value to my life… unless of course if it’s necessary for work. This is my personal call to retreat from the digital life and live fully offline in the real. I’ve always known this time was coming and I believe that time has come. I’ll drop by once in a while to see how some of you are doing. I’ll leave my Signal down people if you want to say hi. The people do make the place and there are people here I do cherish. You know who you are. β™₯️ Be well and Godspeed!

A shame for me because I so enjoy the tidbits of your life that you share, but I 100% understand and agree that it’s a positive change to go offline, especially when you are starting a family. Your absence will be noticed πŸ«‚
Totally agree with your decision. Unless you're posting for sats, its not worth it.

I've been feeling the same Sister, I left for a year and came back a couple of months ago to get some mining advice. Little to no interaction. 🚬πŸ₯ƒπŸ«‘
I relate to this post since I had my baby girl earlier this year. I'm doing my best to spend less time in the virtual world. Best wishes to you and your family. If you ever need to hear a 'GM', you know where to come back to!

Agreed that means of communication has to stay alive to keep the conversation going. But I don't think nostr will survive AI onslaught of misinformation.
Respectfully disagree. A non-algorithm driven platform with some level of discernment and shared values in its users is the best defense against AI misinfo and bots/sockpuppet accounts
There’s a lot of bots in nostr. Actually it’s almost impossible to remove spam given the structure of nostr being truly decentralized. It’s his Achilles heel.
The WoT settings has cleaned up pretty much any spam I used to see. As for spotting bots that's up to each person to use some intuition Anything that is as useful (and threatening to the powers that shouldn't be) is going to be attacked with spam and bots. Its a dance that's ever evolving, but where there's a will there's a way when it comes to decentralized free communication

With nostr you can share your npub with another person privately. This is important but not well understood when people are encouraged to create accounts for everything.
