Being principled is to be rational. Fanaticism is irrational. You can't be a rational irrational.

I am uncritical of Jesus' words. I'm very critical of my own imperfect understanding of them. I'm enthusiastic about them, but I am not overly enthusiastic about them. So I suppose that fails the strict definition of fanatical.
Dictionaries are (sometimes) informed opinions on what words mean. I tend to only use dictionaries from the 1800s. I'm very suspect of any past about 1851 (for American English).
Actually, I have to see if I can find any public domain dictionaries to upload to Alex. That is a valuable resource in today's all too fluid Marxist reimagining of words.
