YouTube not so much. Read The Genesis Book by Aaron van Wirdum and The Blocksize War by Johnathon Beir for history. Or listen to an audio book of both. Both are excellent and provide a lot of historical background to understanding the current state of BTC.

Bitcoin history; it really isn't that old. But a great resource: the Genesis book by @Aaron van Wirdum Bitcoin mining: someone else can answer. I'm sure there is a lot though.
