GM I am forced to purchase some Bitcoin from Revolut. I'm now battling to get it off the exchange. The confirm button greys out when I select it. I hate banks.

I think if we work together we can solve this problem… Often the offers on Robosats are too high for me. All we need to do is you send me some money and I can buy sats with that and bring down your orders…. Win!
Xapo are a private bank and so charge an annual fee, currently $1,000 As an early member, they are keeping my annual fee at $140 until 2027. But they are a full bank with a 200,000 Euro bank guarantee. They don't charge a fee on trades and use mid market prices. Strike are a gateway, not a full bank, they are free to use but charge a trade fee and use spread prices. As I have a Xapo bank account I use that mostly, but I also use Revolut and Strike for day to day stuff.

I was surprised how easy it was to transfer BTC off my Revolut to another wallet. I could swear it was not possible in the beginning

Had same problem and ended up leaving it there. Revilut is only good for sending filthy fiat to crypto friendly banks like Xapo exchanges

Orange pilling a friend I helped them set up a lightning wallet to receive a few sats to play with. Next thing they are trying to send the sats to revolut. He said I was crazy when I said the whole point is to at least control your own wallet, if not be your own bank. To my horror they think it is illegal not to use a bank for handling money! How can you declare anything to irs if the funds aren't in a bank?! Madness. LIke, I cant declare the current value of my house because it is not in a bank? Also they were incredulous when I suggested that to protect their privacy they should only give an alias/anon email address, not sign in with Google... ngmi, Adoption has a long long way to go, because these guys are closer to young hippy than mainstream boomer.
Banks were the first Internet for money, you could deposit money in one location, travel to another location and withdraw your money there.
