Today is kind of a sad day. We have been blessed to have inherited a very old avocado tree. We have enjoyed it for years, but these last 2 years it has appeared to be slowly struggling. We have consulted arborists and followed their recommendations and spent a lot of time and money to try to save this tree. Turns out, it is infested with termites. Initially, it appeared to be just one of the limbs which we chopped, but the pest people discovered that it is essentially completely infested and therefore has to be removed from our property. It will be missed, but will leave behind space for more opportunities of growth. image

Noooo! I was just bragging about that very tree to a random person in conversation yesterday!
Yeah, a lot of time I fear. Only known them to be sorta bush sized the few times I'd seen one

I’m really sorry this happened. Losing the tree is sad, but I hope the space it leaves brings new opportunities and growth.
Awww. So sad. It is lovely I am excited to see what you will plant. I love to watch plants mature and grow.
Nnnnnnooooooo I didn't ask if that was the tree you guys were talking about the other night but assumed it was. This sucks, find some joy somewhere today 🫂💜
Bruh, If it had been stacking bitcoin it never would gotten infested in the first place and its fruit would still be sunning like a true maxi
Well that's where termites live. They start at the roots but they generally travel up the outside of the trunk to get to the dead limbs. I suspect you're being bullshitted by fear mongering arborists or pest controllers. Pest controllers are well known for doing this. It's your tree though. Do what you feel is best. 🫂💚
