It’s unbelievable. Mad lads
Very cool!
And this was all developed and launched this week (as far as I can tell).
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
How to actually create my own community?
I mean like a sub-reddit can I create it myself from the app?

To create communities and approve posts, please use nostr.kiwi or satellite.earth
It’s too bad you’re a censor.
Anyone is a censor
Awesome 🙌
How so?
I got to have a android phone
Not me.
What's wrong with building moderated communities on a censorship resistant foundation?
Amethyst censors a bunch of ppl using false reports, including me. So if a few major bitcoin accounts falsely report you as “malicious” or “harmful” content (which is what they did to me) then you’re censored for a lot of the network.
Someone made a fork removing the censorship “features” but his censorship still persists.
Sorry that happened to you. And outrageous actually. I’ve never seen you say anything malicious or harmful.
The problem is determining who defines what’s “moderated” (censored). Nobody wants to be spammed, but most of the censorship on nostr so far has absolutely nothing to do with spam.
Someone even said I post illegal content which is 100% a lie. But the bitcoin zealots here will do whatever to censor ppl that question them.
Show me one profile that's being unfairly censored on Nostr
Whoa. 100% a lie. And there’s nothing you can do about it? You’re just outcast in certain places?
Amethyst is freakin amazing!
I would suggest Apple lovers buy an Android phone, root it, install Lineage OS and Amethyst on top ⚡
True, literally me lol.
But even the idea of censorship by vote of the majority is flawed. That’s not how free speech works.
Not fair
Then how do I still see you?
how do i still see you if you're censored? not even following you and I still can see you?
You're describing my phone 🤣
That's not true. The feature was updated, its up to the user to decide if they want content filtered out if accounts they follow report it. This feature was updated shortly after onyx (tony) hit the market.
I can't find any of that stuff on Amethyst... Where is it?
Yes its a great app just have one "big" problem maybe it will be solved soon i hope... because at this stage its a battery eater...
How does Lineage compare to Grapheneos?
That seems better. Leaving it up to each individual user.
Great work!
testing #sendtotwitter (3rd time is the charm)
Is this in a beta?
Sooo awesome to be part of this growing community. I'm thinking about building a client myself as a PWA with Flutter, just so the stores can never lay a finger on zaps ⚡

I think this only applies if you use Amethyst? Are you on Amethyst?
Also it might have gotten fixed per another note in response to this.
I'm using Amethyst
Got it. I guess it got fixed.
Noapte buna Nostr to the stars
Well, that's an excellent question, and I just updated to latest version and lo and behold, there's all that stuff I couldn't find😅
Afaik Graphene is only for Pixels, so it's only Google Tensor CPUs. I would choose Snapdragon to avoid any possible backdoors (if we talk about real sh**) 😏.
Tho Graphene is focused on security and privacy. Never tried it.
I have one offline phone on Lineage - works smoothly.
If you follow someone or turn the functionality off then it doesn't affect your experience. It's on by default though.
It’s also based on reports and there’s no way to dispute false reports, and there are many for me.
Is there a way to see the reports that have been filed against you?
Some clients let you see the reports, and I think there’s a few browser tools too. There’s one that lets you see who has muted you too but I don’t recall who made it smh..
Glad this exists. Thanks for letting us know.
Yes! Thanks, I’m going to bookmark it this time lol.
Bot has 23 reports

Mute event is different, and the spam filter is based on report events. I must mention that the filter is now optional but enabled by default on Amethyst & turned off by default on Onyx.
Hey thanks. Lol oh no poor Bot.
Thanks for elaborating. So if you’ve been reported you get categorized as spam?
What is Onyx?
Wtf it was 17 last time! 😠
Btw what client is that?
Yeah, I've not seen a web tool to get the actual reports though, only in amethyst. Can see who someone has reported in nostrudel.ninja and also see how many reports you've received in nostr.band (LOL mainvolume coming in strong with 61) but not the details.
They don't mean anything, I don't think they should be used for anything without verifying the authenticity of each report.
I was in a thread with a BTC maxi related to him shitting on a monero group the OP created. He actually reported the post where the guy created the group. This wasn't a reply or anything. Disgusting.
There are so many examples. Sometimes, people report content simply because they dislike it.
Onyx is a forked version of Amethyst, created by Tony, removing all default client-side filtering.
Thank you
Who?
👌
what filters are there? can you point to code?
where is reports on nostr.band ?
There are 2 kinds of filters on Amethyst
- web-of-trust filters: if 5 or more of your contacts have reported a post, that post will have a warning sign (that you can dismiss to see the post content)
- de-dup spam filter: if someone posts notes with the same content repeatedly, the app blocks the user automatically. To find their notes, you'll have to go to their profile & follow them.
Both these filters are on by default on Amethyst. If you go to Security Filters, you'll have the option to disable them
#duh
i had to click overview then scroll down, a lot, and you cant click the reports number to see more
i think amethyst filters are good but you should have options how the filtered content is displayed, like hidden, and minimized in a couple ways etc, the current show content is quite big
