So im busy prepping my keynote for BTCPrague where i will argue that most of you are just dead wrong (but you will ignore my words, guarenteed so thats ok) and do what everyone says is the thing you are not supposed to do.
But after prague I will sit down with Ostein and see if my converting his website into a nostrified website trick worked to get the point across. And if it did, and he likes it, then the next stage will be really straight forward:
All you fucks just need to go and task your agents to pirate contentcreators/peoples/business their website, rip it, nostrify it, and SHOW THEM WHY NOSTR IS BETTER.
It makes maintaining their site easier, and solves a reach issue for any of their audience/friend/customers that are already on Nostr, not having to go to their h t t p : / / w w w . w e b s i t e . c o m in order to access their stuff in a sovereing/censorship resistant way.
Will keep you posted in a week, or see you at #BTCPrague

See you there mate!
Interesting. I'll definitely tune into this one.
When you get a breather, I would love to hear how I can Nostrify our website. I hope your keynote goes exceedingly well, and please share the link when it's out, I would love to watch it.

Get a blossom server that is reliable and fast. for example (make sure the account is tied to the keypair you are going to use). A paid relay is also a good idea i guess, azzamo has those as well. (im not getting paid to advertise, but am a user and as such am somewhat incentivized for them to get more customers so their business is viable and they stick around :P ). You really want a good relay and blossom server, because that is what is now effectively hosting everything, while the webpage becomes essentially a bare-bones nostr-client taylored to your content.
Then make a space tomatoes keypair if you don't already have one and use it inside a bunker, like amber (android). Generate a bunker link and give that to the AI-agent (dont give the agent any private keys that matter directly hahaha).
Now tell the AI-agent to nostrify your website, tell it to use the the bunkerlink in order to create nostr events and upload content to the blossom server.
Whimwhamwhoofpoof
Done. :).
Atleast something like that, obviously you need an agent that is well versed and informed in all things Nostr (from handeling bunkerlinks, blossom, understanding what event-kinds to pick irt the type of content on the site etc etc). There are also some web-quirks here and there, all i can do is use robots to deliver half-assed slop :). Honestly more competent people should have a good look at this.
Speaking of which:
@Alex Gleason Shakespeare actually already did a good job on my own website at the time, but perhaps a stack more optimized for this particular task would not hurt? Ive avoided log-in/comments etc thusfar to keep things straightforward, but i suppose that is also something a lot of sites would/could use.
Let me tag @Sebastix as well while i am at it, because he is also already working in this direction.
The demo i made in a similar way for Earthtreemedia can be found here:
Azzamo Blossom
Nostr-native media hosting powered by Azzamo
techno-ethica · Wouter Constant
Wouter Constant navigates the good, the bad and the ugly of innovation, trying to steer civilization in a sensible direction.
To give @npub13sdp...f9kj some insight into Nostr, and what is possible, i copied his earthtreemedia.com site here:
https://npub143ac528xxw9gtftammcf9dn7yhpcdy6k36824u85009wkwsx45cq57ev6h.nsite.lol/
Everything on the site is actually Nostr-events/publications (except for most of the videos, those are still on vimeo because this is just a demo, i copied three videos to blossom). It uses a pretend/fake/mock keypair @npub1asuh...vtg0 .
PS:
Øistein, if you look at that Earthtree Media profile on Nostr with a Nostr app, you will notice that all the content can be viewed inside the Nostr app as well. This is because its all just publications, and the website, your nostr-app, or any other nostr-app can fetch those publications (wherever they may exist at the time), and show/present them in whatever manner is useful for a particular context. I recommend you use the app "yakihonne" instead of Primal, but hopefully Primal gets the point across as well.

NOT AGAIN?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
You shall not be saved.
@Havok is running his own pyramid relay, which is also a Blossom server
But to get your website more resilient, use multiple blossom servers for all the assets your website uses
oh right, i totally forgot Havok is running a BEAST of a machine already hahahaha
My guess we just can host all the stuff on his machine too 🤓
Curious ✌️
all of Nostr based on the specs
For all 12 people?? lol, kidding. Yeah it could probably handle a good amount more than it is doing now for sure. I will have to test out a few things to see what the media downloads look like and the delay in page loading etc.. Which reminds me I need to implement the new thing @fiatjaf made and I completely neglected to get implemented. Grrr. I need someone to go ahead an add like 2 hours to days, 26 hour days would make this much less busy.
oh i feel ya.
As for the page loading, honestly the site itself should probably cache most if not all things, no real reason not to. Also safes a lot of fetching room for those things that are live/dynamic. As I said, the greybeard council should have a look ( yes @Sebastix you have a beard now, and its grey)
Please don't make more Nostr content bots! A microbloging platform like Nostr should be about dialogue! Content shouldn't be on Nostr unless a human who can discuss it puts it here.
You misunderstood things on so many levels, its impressive.
Nostr is not a platform,
Neither is it (just) for micro blogging,
I was not proposing any Nostr content bots.
I was using the term platform to refer to something people can put stuff on for other people to see. A stage is a platform. Twitter is a platform. The interconnected decentralized relays implementing the Nostr protocol are a platform people can put stuff on for other people to see.
If you disagree with that usage of the term "platform", could you give a definition that you would prefer? And can you explain what term I should use to refer to something people can put stuff on for other people to see?
In your previous post, you advocated tasking agents to pirate and rip content creators and nostrify it. I thought you were telling people to have their bots put the contents of other people's websites on Nostr. Do you think people should have bots post other websites' content or am I misunderstanding whether you want that?
I understand that Nostr is both for notes and other stuff too. Would any of the things you want nostrified turn into notes like we use for microblogging? Or would all of the contents of all of the websites end up in the "other stuff" category"?
Its a "protocol", but perhaps that is not helpfull so lets use "method", a way of doing things. Its not a location. Like English, English is not a platform, its a method to interact with other humans, so is Nostr (or any other protocol for that matter).
The point of tasking agents to rip peoples websites and nostrify them is to illustrate Nostr to the owner of that website as to what to possibilities and added value of Nostr is. So its for demonstration purposes, so they then hopefully are motivated to do it themselves for real. The reason to use AI for this is because it takes only a couple of minutes to get the demo up and running without any effort.
Websites have all sorts of content, "about" pages, blogposts, videos, whateverwhatever, and all of those things can be discrete Nostr events with the appropriate kind, and subsequently render nicely in the adequate Nostr app people use. I.e. it flips the model; the content itself is now central, and the website became just another venue of displaying/accesing that content, but any Nostr app now also became such a venue.
Hope this clears things up.
Your "English" analogy does not match up with the way people use the word "Nostr."
We never say we put something ON English. If you can't put something on English, then English can't be a platform. On the other hand, people say they put things ON Nostr all the time. Therefore, the word "Nostr" can refer to a platform.
My issue is with the "appropriate kind" of the Nostr event. Would any of the websites' content end up as the event kind we use for microblogging?
