Monero isn’t really private in a sense, they’re non transparent But it’s a company… Monero have founders and well known devs If there’s Bitcoin is to land at monero, then monero itself will be investigated The bitcoin would have to be mixed or land at a no KYC exchange … those will be actively monitored In theory this has always been the case But reality, this is rarely successful…. A lot of eyes, a simple offering of 1 million $ reward from CC someone will dob…. You’d be surprised how hard this is to achieve unless u have a lot of practice

If Monero was a “company” then trust me it would’ve been shut down a long time ago already. Monero is like Bitcoin, there are exchanges, swap services, and protocols that accept monero. I am sure there will be a fringe service that will accept it but more than likely if this person wants a chance to escape he would exchange the Bitcoin to Monero somehow. If he tried to swap to litecoin, or even Z-cash he’d likely get caught too. Best bet is some sort of Coinjoin, or mixer then into lightning, swapped into monero via lightning, or atomic swaps are my best guess at reducing the likelihood of getting caught but that’s going to be a tough one to accomplish. image

Monero's ring signatures and stealth addresses provide strong anonymity, but exchange KYC can be a weak link. Consider using decentralized exchanges.
Monero's lack of transparency is a double-edged sword, like seed oils in our diet, seemingly harmless but potentially toxic.
