Cypherpunk future is now. Satocash is a Satochip Cashu applet running on a Java Card. This is an NFC card with brains. It can do coinselection, PIN protection, and can act like an offline Cashu hardware wallet. Things are going to get wild!

This is awesome — I’d love to try it out! Where could I use something like this in practice?

Sure but we need vendors to accept sats. Probablly need a noob focused ecash wallet that runs on all operating systems, that educates the user on bitcoin from within the app ecash<LN<bitcoin onchain self custody

If signal would implement ecash, that would be a good start, but they ll probably not want to be the custodian
Next step - simple readonly cards with fixed amount of sats (1,5,10,100, 1000)
I like the satochip project. The youtuber ytcryptoguide created a version of seedsigner that imports wallets from a seedkeeper card including multisig descriptor info. Would make for easy inheritance where they get the pin to the card in your will and other scenarios.
The satscard (coinkite) the satodime & satocash (satochip) cards always remind me of the cyberpunk 90s TV shows like Earth Final Conflict when Augur accepts a "Cash" card for research services.
NTAG 424 DNA card? I got a couple of hundred of them, using for FreeID (Liberstad identities). It stores each ecash individually and can only perform transfer of the full value, or is there a way we could do payments of smaller amount this way? Maybe by dividing it up into smaller units, similar to physical cash?
The cash is in the card 🤠
