One of the many signs that western culture is broken is that people equate owning animals with raising children. Dog “moms” and cat “dads” gotta be one of the most backwards things I’ve ever seen.
Grew up with dogs and love (some) dogs. But putting kids and canines anywhere near a similar realm shows how much western culture needs to be totally rebuilt.
Pet idolatry has to end and sane people need to push back.

Totally agree. Screwed up. Then again, I personally know 3 youngsters that are pretending to be the other gender...
Smh. Lord have mercy!
“Dog insurance?”

People seem to own dogs as a form of cope. They wish they had a family. They wish they could love and be loved by human beings instead of a dumb beast.
I remember getting a dog with my future wife and it prepared us for kids as it was something living that needed to be cared for. That is where it ends. I really notice this with grandparents where they “baby” their pets and spoil them.
Absolutely. I learned a lot about training, etc. that bleeds over into parenting (and other areas of life), but your point about clearly indicating where the parallels end is well put
100% It’s a sign of despair when people idolize their pets
You have to get a wallet setup btw! Tried to zap your comment some sats but wasn’t able to
Let me drop $5k on an operation for my dog who is twelve years old and can’t control his bladder so that he can suffer for another 4 months to help me with my loneliness lol
