Last week, we observed a sudden spike in bitchat downloads from Indonesia during nationwide protests. Today we're seeing an even bigger spike from Nepal during youth protests over government corruption and a social media ban. Freedom tech is for the people. Please share. These people are using Nostr now. Links Official website: iOS: Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitchat.droid

Would be good to hear first hand from them, especially if they're in the thick of revolution, Calle. Weil du nicht da bist. Only they can know the software, hardware and radiowave clashes causing novel bugs. #TheMoreYouKnow ~ SK

Heh. And now we’re all on the FBI’s radar. Good work building “freedom tech”! Now, TBH, I’m all for the uncontrollable software like @bitchat, but I also know I’m not entirely “free” in Statist terms. I am totally freed in spiritual terms tho, so I applaud getting Nostr on the Statist’s radar… they’ll have to grapple with the fact they’re not all-powerful, once again, which is a very good thing.
How does someones download location leak? They're raw dogging the internet. Sad that this is the case.
We've seen cases of dropping deep inspec packets on the broadband directly through the providers, with the help of the Chinese in the Burmese coup. A first-hand experience that we can dissect in terms of where in the hardware/software the leaks could be. How about you give specifics and be helpful? It's a new app, it's gonna have new bugs across IPs, tracking apps, illegal surveillance and more, pinging servers across the 🌎, etc. Everything is an opportunity to better #FreedomTech tools for the #revolution
#bitchat solves a real life problem - network congestion when you put a million phones side by side... .. it is nothing to do with fear of monitoring or gov intrusion thingie ...cuz no one gives an f ... But the problem is cell towers just don't work .. so .. but the aftereffects are profound .. once you taste the nectar of freedom you come to realize trillions of dollars spent on 5g ( and starlink :-) are such a waste of time and money ..
Don't get butthurt because this retard thought your app was leaking location data.
This is the greatest potential of Bitcoin and related tech--to level the balance of power between the the few and the many, between the government and governed once you have power in your own life and over your own future, it changes how you think, it changes how you behave with others, it changes everything LFG! The UK public may also be downloading it. But they’re iphone shopping first. Got to look good out on the streets 💅

How is Bitchat different from Briar? Doesn't it offer the same functionality?

Fuck Dorsey (you forget he (it) complied with government bands on Twitter before the fake sale to Elon Musk because everybody ditched the app so they needed to get us all back on board the little Honeywagon, which is exactly what this shit is
Yes albeit briar doesn't really have users and its permissioned (requires to scan qr code to the other phone) whilst bitchat is fully open, which works better during protests etc. (bitchat is more like the old firechat, but then open source)
