Cause it's not legal, same reason you can't wear headphones and drive.
You won't be able to hear sirens of emergency vehicles
So you can hear honks? lol
Typically higher end car brands do. And some of the cheaper brands have models with it. The point is to reduce “road noise” not make the outside world disappear. Had a S Class that had it as well as specially treated windows to make ride very quiet. Current 2 cars, both Lexus also have it I believe.
Oh it is a thing then!
Guess they could filter only road / aero noise … ?
