The debate about SimpleX has been heated over the last couple of days.
Here is my final decision [ at the moment ].
I also dislike the concept of "legality".
SimpleX has a company/legal entity (just like Signal), which means that if they openly say "fuck the laws" - the creators of those very laws will come after them faster, which is unlikely to be what they want (just like Signal).
I will continue to use SimpleX, and as soon as they change their ToS / privacy policy / transparency report - I will stop.
The advantage of SimpleX over Signal in terms of legal bullshit is that:
👇🏻
when the privacy policy changes, there will be a full-screen notice in the SimpleX app.
There will also be a link to Github to see exactly what has changed.

There was some kind of troll in Matrix (Monero Offtopic)...

I don't understand why there is so much emotion surrounding the price of Zcash.
If you think that in today's cryptocurrency world, anyone other than you and 0.01% of people despise the corporate component of any cryptocurrency project - think again.
Moreover, no one doesn't care about centralization (take Tron, Binance Smart Chain, and other EVM-like networks as examples), and the fact that one pool was mining ~75% of ZEC blocks until recently is also irrelevant.
By the way, for greater decentralization, the corporate boys added +1 pool (F2Pool) so that you would finally shut up about ZEC being mined by 1 pool for almost 9 years. Forget it, now there are 2 pools. Enjoy.
Also, why is the community, which has spent most of its time focusing on improving the Monero protocol and spreading information about it, suddenly so concerned about market cap?
At this stage, Zcash wins in:
* ease of entry/exit (thanks to integrations with other networks and DEXs
But Zcash is losing in terms of merchant adoption. And this price increase could change that too.
Instead of running around on Twitter, maybe it would be more productive to do something more useful for XMR? 🤔

I have a question about #BitChat and the "notes for location" feature.
Let's say I was near Supermarket_1 and left a note there. Then I went to another place, and when I physically return to Supermarket_1 and someone checks the notes at that time, will they see the note?
So, notes function as a local "ransponder" / "repeater?
This morning, I woke up to a dozen messages from my friends with a link to nprofile1qqsvnx99ww0sfall7gpv2jtz4ftc9v6wevgdd7g4hh7awkpfvwlezugekhte2's post about the "NFT" token.
Like everyone who wrote to me, I initially thought their accounts had been hacked. But no.
The abbreviation "NFT" caused so much noise and hate that few people read beyond "NFT".
"NFT from SimpleX" = a voucher to pay for servers. That is, there will be no NFT [ in the classical sense ] on CEX/DEX, no free trading and no pump/dump.
You won't even be able to send this NFT to someone else.
"NFT from SimpleX" is kind of like "recharging balance of your GSM provider".
----
Okay, moving on...
You all know very well that I started using SimpleX a long time ago and personally made many of you install it.
What do I think about this "NFT"? - I don't care.
Can I anonymously buy an "NFT" from SimpleX to pay for using the standard server network? - Yes.
Because I can always exchange XMR for USDT / USDC and then use stablecoin to buy a "voucher" to pay for SimpleX servers.
Yes, you should understand that in order to maintain maximum privacy, you will need to create a disposable Metamask / Rabbi wallet, exchange XMR -> ETH (gas), and then XMR -> stablecoin, and then stablecoin -> SimpleX voucher.
What percentage of normies do you think will be able to "do it right"? That's the main reason why I don't like these "vouchers", rather than the fact that I have to pay to use the standard SimpleX server network.
----
I always support FOSS projects with money (XMR or other crypto).
FOSS projects need your support (bug reporting, etc.) and money to develop. If you think you can work for years on pure enthusiasm, I recommend reading the book "Real Artists Don't Starve".
----
If you don't want to mess with these vouchers, start your own server.
SimpleX is completely FOSS, so no one can stop you from running your own server or even... a network of SimpleX servers in different countries/continents with XMR as a direct payment option, even with some % extra.
"t" address.
So, whatever people say about wonderful privacy, if it's not by default, people will take the easiest route (in this case I mean merchants).
Both posts contain so much cultural cringe that commenting on them would only spoil them.

Ukraine is a dictatorship: Forced mobilization in city of Lutsk
Territorial Center of Recruitment employees in minibuses surrounded the courtyard of one of the residential complexes and dragged a young man into a minibus. He tried to hide in the stairwell, but did not make it in time.
The footage shows that most of the people carrying out the detention were in civilian clothes, no one introduced themselves.
The young man's companion tried to save him, but to no avail. Local public groups report that the girl was also dragged into the bus with him.

When most people arrive in a new country, they learn a few words in the local language for the sake of propriety: "good morning", "thank you" etc.
I always learn this first: "Taxation is theft".
It always helps me make friends with the locals.
If you consider yourself as a Monero enthusiast - please leave your Nostr npub key, and I will add you to this list.
I'm making a follow list for Nostr, so we don't lose each other when Twitter/X block us all here, and ask for KYC.

The incident occurred during an attempt to detain the man.
A typical day in the dictatorship: men carry grenades so that they can make a choice if they are detained.
