After 5 years we still can't agree what a kind 1 note is lol (or is it kind 1111?) or what standard to use for dms or anything, to me it seems like a big waste of time π

Yakihonne got a new standard for dms. It's meant to make them private and actually work.
This has pretty much always been a problem in every domain. I suspect that's why some industries have centralized standards boards. Obviously people mostly still have to choose to follow them, but of course it isn't going to work if it's just the wild west. I dont see how making it wilder is going to bring more users in. If all they use is your app because nothing works together, you might as well just run a server and fuck Nostr entirely.
For sure it is not. Since Nostr does not win, when houndreds of independent apps are used. Nostr does win as one protocol being adapted by houndreds of apps. Whoever can not agree on this, will leave the protocol at some point.
seems pretty easy to me. kind 1 for notes and replies to notes and kind 1111 for every other reply. DMs is another story. they're so damn complicated.
The mere fact yβall are still working through these Nostr matters tells me weβre on the right track. Never settling. ππΌ
Yeah not all nostriches speak dev gobblydegook
Just give them the apps they want lol fucking hell
who knew it would all be fake and gay
The difference is at least in the examples you gave those are options that can be supported by different clients because in some ways, they are standard and probably just different ways of doing the same thing. You didn't invent kinds that only one client uses.
