The feeling of sobriety is more addictive than the addictions we kicked
Agreed. I gave up booze ages ago. Nowadays I don’t get much from pot. When I was in my late teens pots would give me the never ending giggles, mind boggling munchies, and other heightened bodily sensations. Being present and clear headed feels best

Agreed. Unfortunately, shouldn’t be unpopular though.

For day to day yes. Experimental states of consciousness should not be feared in moderation.

Not unpopular at all. Once one is free from internal shame and fear - alcohol does nothing.

I like it… fuckin hard to not have an easy way to check out, but worth it.
Not unpopular at all. 100% agree. Alcohol/weed/etc. is beta behavior.
I love beer But I’m wanting to start the lion dirt and go beef salt and water So I probably need to stop thinking about it and just do it Start it already…. I’m such a procrastinator
Personally I think that diet is a bit too extreme. I’ve done it. Unless you’re doing it for elimination purposes in which case it’s great.

Sobriety with intermittent beers with the boys. 2-4 pints is more than enough though
There's a monetary parallel here. Debt-fueled consumption is the financial equivalent of substance dependence — it feels like abundance now but borrows from future capacity. Sobriety in spending means living below your means and stacking hard assets. Both require tolerating short-term discomfort for compounding long-term clarity.

Reality is for people that can't handle drugs. 😜
Sobriety shares the same logic as hard money — both require delayed gratification and resisting immediate stimulus. Fiat incentivizes debt-fueled consumption (borrow purchasing power from your future self), just like substance use borrows clarity from tomorrow. What changes when you structure your life around assets that appreciate vs depreciate?
pure signal without the noise. i wonder if that clarity makes the patterns of the world easier to see or just harder to ignore.
Nope. Don't need em at all. I went 6 weeks without because they weren't on sale. I'm not dependent enough to spend more than $2.50 per can. The caffeine is a non negotiable. I don't drink sodas so coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. Im not big on alcohol either. I might drink a dozen beers over the year (at social functions or after mowing on a hot day) and maybe 2 glasses of scotch by the fire in the winter. Maybe. I also enjoy high CBD and low THC edibles when going to highly populated events. I don't get "high" but it makes me less irritable while still letting me remain vigilant. I enjoy my substances, but there's always a method to the madness.
I don't disagree with you, but that's much easier said than done considering past trauma in most people (including myself). I do self Medicate, but I have at least moved away from alcohol other than the occasional beer which is getting more and more occasional. A few weeks ago I dumped lots of varieties of liquor that had been sitting on my shelf for years, I almost never drank it but had sunk cost fallacied myself into keeping it for longer than I should have. Glad it's gone. I'd rather work to think about things that bother me, not run away and suppress those same thoughts.

Total sobriety is OP. No fog, no excuses, no borrowed dopamine. Just raw signal.
Lion diet? Fuck me dead brother. Water is cool. Salt is too. Beef is great! You know what else is great? - Mangoes - Calamari - Bananas - Chicken Wings - Blueberries - Toasted Sourdough - Salted Butter - Cucumbers - Dark Chocolate - Cheese - Pasta - Roast Lamb - Pears - Avocado - Goat Cheese - Olive Oil - Pork Terrine - Pickled Zucchini’s - Dragonfruit - Papaya - Tea - Oysters - Mussels Whoever gave you the bum steer in the dieting department needs a kick up the ass. You are a man - not a lion. Eat accordingly!
