When was the last time you asked to pay in bitcoin? Here is your reminder to give it a go. From experience, onboarding merchants in bear markets means you get a discount in the bull market. They then take the piss of you in the subsequent bear and it’s all good fun 💜

I find its a waste of time. Employees at corporations don't care and have no power. Small business are struggling and can't afford to play around with Bitcoin.
Few clients stuck on fiat can simply be routed through P2P platforms to get crypto at the other end.
About two weeks ago, I was in Cuba and booked a city tour through GuruWalk. Since I had found the tour on BTC Map, I assumed I would be able to pay with Bitcoin at the end. However, when I asked the guide about it, she told me that her wallet was on a different phone. As a result, it wasn’t possible to pay with BTC, and I had to pay in dollars instead. I was honestly quite disappointed, as I had specifically chosen this tour because it was listed on BTC Map.

what do you recommend merchants to use? onboarding them into a custodian feels risky and wrong

Today I did my first payment in bitcoin in Playa del Carmen, Mx. 🤟🤟🤟
That’s a real shame — it’s always disappointing when you plan to use bitcoin and the payment falls through, especially since you specifically chose that tour because it was listed on BTC Map. The guide could have easily downloaded LaChispa Wallet, which is the community wallet in Cuba, and received the sats that way. It’s a simple solution, but it’s clear we still have work to do when it comes to education and onboarding. Hopefully on your next trip you’ll have a much smoother experience paying with bitcoin
First transaction was paying the bitcoin way for there fantastic services - then purchasing all the important things- nodes, mk4, Q cards, yubikey 5C. Etc 🙏
