All hardware wallets are a scam. You don't need them. You think you do, but you don't. And those who've spent their money on one(or multiple) instead of stacking more sats will figure out the hard way. If you bought a hardware wallet from a company, you have effectively announced to the world, including governments and potential threats, that you own #bitcoin. At some point, they will come after you and your coins. Good luck.

Good luck with your privacy LARP better use monero too lmao
If that is your threat model then source the parts and build a SeedSigner. Or get an old laptop and rip out the wifi and bluetooth.
@SeedSigner
SeedSigner basically just helps users who are willing to put in a little work build a hardened, single-purpose, inexpensive offline device that is specifically intended for creating and using private keys. π
Buy from a no-KYC reseller. Catch me in person at Nashville coference for a KYC free Cold Card Mk4. Tamper proof bags intact. Recompile and flash your own firmware.
Be physically prepared to defend your device if that's your threat model. Physcial readiness is step one to self-sovereignty.

This is silly.
You definitely don't NEED a hardware wallet.
Matter of fact, you can memorize your keys/words and go ANYWHERE in the world and access your #Bitcoin from ANY wallet.
BUT - a good hardware air gapped wallet with OPEN SOURCE software is a good solution to storing your Bitcoin.
There are plenty of options. And using a computer with NON-open source software of ANY KIND is not the solution.
he is basically correct.
keep your seed on metal washers buried in the ground. Or on old Pixel running Graphene.
Seedsigner is great too.
And monero is fucking awesome.
Just hold multi thousand bit entropy trees in le noggin. π₯Έπ«
Not advised for non-autists.
Also not advised for those poorly acquainted with torture.

I work for a globally known seller of building materials and hardware and we've been tracking purchases of washers for years as the buyers could be holding Bitcoin. Entrances and exits are coralled with video surveillance, along with license plate cameras in the parking lot, so trust me when I say even if you pay with cash, we probably know who you are. Best be sending some lackey to make your cash purchase for you after he switches cars a few times. Otherwise its all just a LARP.
