Dude, what's up with this crap lately with Google services being built into Nostr apps? Have you all lost your minds? If Google put out a key signer, you'd probably all jump right on it.

@alp the push notification layer is usually the google trojan horse, and unifiedpush exists exactly so you can ship notifications without handing the social graph over. onboarding normies never required it.
I am not advocating for anyone linking existing npubs to a Google account. Current Nostr users don’t need to change anything at all. This is all about making onboarding easier for everyone else who either tried Nostr and gave up or never joined in the first place because they thought it was too hard. These are users who are not uncomfortable with storing all of their passwords and financial data in a corporate cloud. Over time, once they begin to understand the benefits of better anonymity, they can switch to using sovereign keys.

I guess is smn is daft enough to want to login to nostr with their google account that should be fine. As long as google services don't creep into nostr ones. If I find an app uses google analytics or similar, I will look for alternatives to that app.
