you don't need the cloud. notes and apps can be replicated locally between your devices. nostr is restoring the original vision of the internet.

Let's go #cybiko!
please restore: ip-2-ip networking. everybody possibly have the same pieces of softwares directly on their devices and consisting and being the very internet. we all have ip addresses, no need for datacenters and foreign non-pares nodes bei it relays or what ever the flyin fuck. restore internet? be the internet already. we all have our ipaddresses, there should barely be any further requirement. self custody data. ip2ip and done. why thank you.
Some mechanism must exist to propagate media from user to user, and that may mean the relays are the clients, but it still means something must relay notes and other stuff.
I am interested in what you mean by app replication. My dream is make a virtual machine that doesn't care what device is which so you can use all your peripherals and compute regardless of what machine it is on. Live migration of running code. It just needs to be aware of bandwidth, latency, available compute, and memory. 😛 It is really hard to solve, but it is possible. Imagine writing a naive raytracer on your phone and have the VM be smart enough to split out the rendering loop to run on your PC.

negentropy is set reconciliation, so your local notes can be replicated to any other nostr node. we almost have a working version of this via multicast in notedeck already (minus the negentropy bit, but thats coming)
