IDK if you've been on Backpacker Radio with Zack and Chaunce as my podcasts crowded them out awhile back, but I do think they and the backpacking world need someone to orange pill them, so they can spend less time on the hamster wheel and more time on the trail.
The idea of cashu or QR code lightning trail magic just came to mind. Except maybe instead of at road crossings, at summits. This could totally be memed into existence. Bonus points for weather proof durable Nostr summit registry relays running like pirate boxes.
My question for you re: running though is, how much do you spend on shoes a year? I tend to walk more because the pavement just eats my shoes and that sucks.
I’ve ran several marathons, and people do it in full costume, flip flops, etc. I could run 10 miles under 60 minutes, but when it comes to those longer distances, the granny who could maintain a 10 minute mile always beat me.
