I’m hitting the streets of #WashingtonDC to ask small businesses 6 easy questions with a few about Bitcoin. I expect a lot of hesitation but I’ve already got 5 responses and was pleasantly surprised that 1 guy who runs a small sandwich/crepe shop in a mini mart wanted me to come back and help him get set up with a wallet. The results of the survey will be useful in figuring out how to structure future outreach/education efforts in DC but even more valuable are the relationships I make with real people along the way. ☑️ What do you think of the quick survey? ☑️ What would you change? ☑️ How would you follow up with interested business owners? image

This great! Do you have a standardized plan/process for how to get them set up with a wallet and how to accept payments of they are interested? If so, can you share that as well? I'd like to do this at my local Farmer's Market
I will absolutely share this once it’s refined a bit. The survey is insightful but the follow up is where the real magic happens. I think a standardized one-page leave-behind would be good, but the onboarding process will likely be tailored to each business.
Great idea but I feel like it’s a bit much for my first interaction with small businesses. Perhaps it would be better suited for the first follow up or on a 1-page leave behind.
Yea I've got all kinds of ideas for stuff I want to do with our meetup group... Handing out surveys to local businesses sounds really fun actually 😃
I might mention this to someone who showed interest or had further questions. Otherwise it would sound like I’m trying to create fomo or sell them on something and that can be counter productive.
I want to share my experience with 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄. 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥👥What'sApp page +44 7480735379 . Get the edge in crypto trading chat, who has been an exceptional crypto trader. The first two questions are golden because they tap into the pain retailers face…need to create a few more like this…these are the attention getters. Im a noob btc guy, def. Now more enlightened, what im finding out when talking with folks is people only know the word “bitcoin”…and maybe its legacy negative connotations but beyond that, zero understanding of what it truly is. Others questions should revolve around rising cost to do business, diminished net earnings, providing more value for customers. Believe it or not, most retailers, especialy maw/paw dont like raising prices…they dont want to scare customers and most dont want to expain why they are raising prices. Another question is “how often are you absorbing price increases?” Each question needs to have a clear solution. Adopting the pay system is one thing but what truly could help beyond this is proving info and education that can be passed to the customer letting them know Bitcoin is a better way to pay…listing all the positives of why. Like a poster when you walk in a store. Bullet points on why to use. Then a QR to download a wallet, quick buy some coin then buy a 12 pack with it. Easy. Then a lasting tag line. “Buying with Bitcoin makes your world more affordable” something like that.
I love the poster idea! I intentionally left off many questions because I wanted the survey to unit take 2 minutes. Perhaps if the business said yes to a follow-up we could email them a longer survey and include some of these questions.
No offense here but you are selling an idea…and I applaud that. I’ve been thinking about this a lot…especially as it pertains to those that make music. I’d love for a bunch of artist to jump ship from labels, management streaming etc. and earn what is due to them. I’ve yet to convert anyone….im having to work on my sales pitch. 😂
Yes, the long term goal is to “sell” the idea of bitcoin to a small business but my intent with this survey is purely information gathering as well as to humanize Bitcoin such that the owners see a real person standing in front of them in real life asking real questions about Bitcoin. For many people, Bitcoin is just some weird or scammy thing they heard about from the internet or TV. If they have more questions when I conduct the survey I will do my best to answer them, but I think it’s important NOT to try and “sell” the idea of Bitcoin during the survey.
