It’s a statistics game. Dan Osman and Dean Potter and many others all made a single mistake and are no longer with us. As humans do.

His brain is wired different. I don't like heights so I'm amazed by and in awe of him. Incredible.
In Nostr, there is no edit, no delete. In Bitcoin there's no tx withdraw, or key reset. If it's important, be mindful; it it's not, who cares. A few days ago I had the idea to illustrate this with an Alex Honnold picture... He is incredible. Probably the most prolific solo climber alive. Hopefully he'll become an old ex-solo climber as well. (btw my profile picture is Dean Potter)

He's over 40 too. Incredible
I value my life too much to risk it on something like this. I respect it, but ultimately it’s very very stupid.

Turned this on last night real time. First thought was: this could have an ASL feed, second was “I gotta turn this off in case he dies,” and the third was “damn, he really did that.” View quoted note →

1,650 ft without ropes 😳 Is this a human or a superhero?!
He’s been doing free solo in nature on some of the most insane mountains for years. Highly recommend Free Solo documentary. Truly astounding feat.

Might be politically incorrect, but even if he donated 300% of his salary, I'd still say the climb is more impressive. Writing a check is great, but climbing Taipei 101 without ropes is just on another level.
