I heard that the first viking to sail upwind was killed for practicing witchcraft. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, I was looking at how small it is. Even with the time savingsv you'd need a massive fleet to replace the sky scraper sized cargo ships we currently use.
Yeah it looks like they've used a stock photo of a triple hull yacht which is definitely not a cargo ship. Bit weird tbh, but then, so is pretending wind powered ships are something new and special 😂

I was wondering if it was a stock photo. It looks more like an ocean racer. About 10-15 years ago, some cargo ships were outfitted with giant kites to help save fuel when the wind is favorable. They looked just like the kite sail in Waterworld, but with nicer colors.
It will do none of those things. And it is literally made from processed fossil fuels. Have we hit #PeakStupidity yet, in the West?
Not the MHD propulsion i was promised in Red October 😡🤣

I think I remember the article I read saying that prototypes had been installed, and they used them with positive results. When fuel prices dropped, companies probably ditched the concept to save money in the short term. Whenever fuel prices get so high that people get creative and innovative, fuel prices magically drop and the momentum for those new ideas disappears. Around that same time, I remember mainstream news interviewing a prodigy teen that made an engine (suitable for a car) that ran off of dried leaves, or something similarly odd and mundane. He was touring around, doing interviews, then gas dropped back from ~$4/gallon to ~$2/gallon and no one cared about efficiency any more.
