NIP5 is shit guys. It does nothing for the 99% of nostr users.

shhh! it makes us look *verified*
It's retarded is what it is lol.

If you want a checkmark, I'll give everyone a checkmark in my client lol
no it's crap
i would fat zap that 🤙
lol but there are no wallets or zaps in Halo.. hahaha
I like the loading screen when you open halo
ty
You’re welcome
Who's that 1%? The people that have somehow memorized all the domains associated with their follows to know they're not following a fake? 😆 Because let's face it, using a custodial domain to host your NIP-05 does nothing to validate one's identity.
Not like my own domain helps with that either. 💀
it associates a pubkey with a domain name. what exactly are you expecting?
oh snap, that's slick. i'm never going to actually log in 🤣
How are you assigning @ usernames on Halo?
NIP-05 is mostly vanity. Your pubkey is your identity.
When my npub gets rugged you would still know the new npubs is me because the formstr domain will point to it. That is what the nip05 is for. Not for stupid twitter style check marks.
This would only be true if anyone knows anything about formstr
You just want to be obtuse so I will ignore the harshness.
Yes, it is only for those that recognize my domain. Similarly we will know it's jack Dorsey's new npub if the cashapp or block domain points to it.
That’s why I said the 1% benefit and others don’t. I don’t mean to shit on you or your domain I was using it more as a broader application to anyone because frankly I don’t know many peoples domains … I could glance and say that looks familiar but that could just be spoofed too.
The ICANN cocksucking will continue until morale improves.
We do know about formstr, tho. Not all domains are as valuable. It's a social proof, so the proof depends upon the social recognition of the domain.
That’s assuming that DNS is a good anchor of trust.
Might as well start posting from another npub and verify your identity by proving yourself to some known member of the community through dms or oob.
