Time to go update my Strike app it seems. One question for Jack is how does this affect Non Resident Aliens for tax purposes? Will the app’s tax area accept those who file a 1040-NR?

Jack does the software automatically “choose” coins bought at a higher price to minimize capital gains? How sophisticated is that part?
So you only pay credit cards? I've tried this before but a lot of services these days tack on a 3% processing fee if you pay with a credit card. So it's not all that great. So I do similar, albeit with CB, where I cash out my monthly bills that I rescheduled to be paid all on the same day of the month.I still prefer to replace vendors with bitcoiners wherever possible since we're trying to grow the bitcoin economy.
This is excellent. I am unfortunately stuck residing in NY. Please continue the efforts to get strike approved for use in this state. Thank you sir.
So cool! Does this work with services that want to verify your account by depositing a small amount and then you input how much they deposit?

All respect to the talented man in the arena, but if he is building sand castles I will call him out. That said: Since when has capital gains been the price of avoiding inflation? With every direct deposit, the number of sats obtained goes down because of inflation. Operating only with credit cards is not friendly to small businesses. This is a slick toy but not a solution. Parading it as a solution to inflation is dishonest at best.
what? living on bitcoin is avoiding inflation. also, when paying capital gains you are paying taxes on a capital gain. in other words, you made money. in other other words, you avoided debasement and inflation
i would argue if you avoided loss it's not really gain so capital gains tax is literally trying to stop people not being robbed i just can't even, if it has anything to do with tax (which is theft) or the government (which is violence) it's not anywhere in the column "legitimate" "honorable" or "righteous" and avoiding their tentacles is all of those things
One word: awesome 🤩👏 And two questions: 1) How does the 'get paid in BTC' part work from the employers side? Do they just transfer the fiat salary to a Strike bank account for Strike to convert it to BTC? 2) Has been said a few times already: any plans to get this to the EU? 😇

Any on grid living situation incurs sizable forced payments in almost any state. So you suggest any reasonable person to go either off grid or adopt nomadism?

I get paid fewer sats each paycheck. Is this not an effect of inflation?

I understood it as debts under threat of eviction, imprisonment or both. Water, sewage, electricity fees, property tax, legally mandated insurance, services and inspections.

Pretty US-centric. Some of those are payments for services you're voluntary subscribing to. Most can be avoided by moving to a different locale. Taxes are what I was thinking of.

- I mirrored the term forced from the post I replied to, which used it to rephrase my previous term mandatory payments. - I wrote these posts from personal experiences in the EU. - I differentiated between on grid and off grid living in regard to utility payments. Avoiding these bills would require full self sufficiency. - Any apartment type facility requires grid fees for shared spaces, even if you could technically make your property self sufficient. - I meant property confiscation, or dispossession instead of eviction. - You made these connections yourself, then you could respect your opposite enough to avoid making redundant inquiries.

I simply describe what various state authorities have been requesting from me. Arcane example, replace all in home water meters every five years or face €10k fines.

can U sue in court with a jury trial for frivolous claims in Austria? i see shift in awareness with people & peers. U personally, i mean.

^just gathering info not suggesting U do.
Assuming there will still be cycles post etf launch. I Think this makes a sense in a bull market. In a bear, where price can rapidly decline it may not make as much sense. How do taxes work with something like this? I imagine you’re having to convert to fiat which is a taxable event, right? It would be interesting to see the best time to use something like this vs not. Interested to see how people use this.

i also wasn't talking about not paying bills i acrued by receiving a benefit these are bills that someone voted into existence and i had no say in it and the cost goes to me and i did nothing wrong so it is a punishment and itself an act of violence really, people have such a muddled morality these days that they don't know the difference between paying your due and being robbed
how did this subject drift from not paying taxes? i'm fine with paying the bills i agreed to i didn't agree to the democracy or the profligacy of spending money ond stupid shit nobody needs and destroying the economy in the process, usually for the benefit of oligarchs and their holding corporations it may well be that i am paying more in rent and food costs because of secondary things but they aren't bills i didn't agree to
also, yeah, council taxes and land taxes are very small compared to income taxes and other bullshit, i mean the amount of taxes i pay to import stuff here is beyond crazy, 30%... and i'm supposed to also pay that same percentage out of my pay? you know that means that more than 60% of my money is going to buy bureaucrat's BMWs and pay for their luxury homes and their luxury cocaine i'm not paying one cent i can avoid paying and if they want to send violent men after me i'll just get away from this gang's territory, it's not rocket science and yeah, there isn't many places in the world where there isn't a whole load of people with their hands out expecting you to pay for their extravagant, self important existences, so DYOR and go find some place where you can pay a more bearable amount of protection money and be mostly left alone this is why i don't own a car, the number of ways in which they make excuses to rob you over the supposed convenience overrides the value of the object in my opinion, i already left one country over the outrageous amount of money i was supposed to give to politicians and their buddies for the privilege of riding a pissy little 50cc motor scooter around

Wordy for mostly saying DYOR. Leaving a country seems pretty disproportionate compared to the concessions made with Strike Bill Pay, never mind the monumental task of obtaining citizenship in another country.

Yo, any plans for Europe? I’m mostly living like this already but would go the last lil bit and live off only credit card if the automation was there. Plus the tax automation. Really cool product. Been looking for something similar
Can't wait to get this in Europe and get closer to a Bitcoin Standard!

This looks good, but you really need to offer a Strike debit card if at all possible, otherwise, this won't work for a lot of people.
