the payment is a distraction - verifying the identity of all users the goal nostr fixes this 🫡 image

We need an Odell prediction checklist for the Twitter verification steps. ✅ Bluecheck verification expanded ✅ first step to extending verification to non-blue check accounts ✅ it will all happen in the name of reducing spam
It they are pretending it's about a barrier to entry, like hashcash, and not about the money someone should propose Bitcoin/Lightning payments. Call their bluff and it's a perfect fit.

Everyone will need a government issued license on the information superhighway.
Good thing I ditched that Xitter platform sooner rather than later, I'm switching to ODELL for my main source of information image
Well… one enters X service contract and pay $ to accept the terms liabilities. I suspect getting doxxed will be the least of our worries.

Starting to think 🤔!! Odell is always right 💯🎯💜💪
Wasn't captcha designed precisely for this use case? Nostr is superior, it's much more agile and versatile, thanks to the LN integration. X looks more and more like grand'pa technology.

hey everyone, i would like to inform you all that reposting is the most important thing on nostr. Many of the people i follow i discovered by someone reposting. It is the nostrs current alternative to algo. Human pushing something to others. Then others seeing. The things you repost like comment on (give time and energy towards) are kind of going up. Gaining attention from others. When others do the same it grows fast. When you ignore something, it the same as killing a childless animal. There is no offspring. So the idea/thought stops. When you repost the thing "goes up" when you ignore the thing "goes down"

Obvious... Who charges $1/year is going for the money? it is not worth the hassle. preparing for universal digital ID or fighting bots...? Or both? I would kill accounts that do not post in human like patterns. Yep, there are robots who post in human-like patterns, but if somebody cares enough to keep them, he will pay for them, even if via a thirdparty or front operation. View quoted note →

💯🎯Prioritizing user privacy is key. #Nostr's solution can help streamline this 🫡. 👏🎯💪
They'll kill their business model trying to reduce the spam and bots. Something that seems well intentioned ends up being their demise. Seems a little poetic.
There is no way to pay without giving away your identity. That is all they want. They might as well ask for your passport photo, and charge nothing. That would be a better deal breaker. I find it hard to believe people will fall for this $1 scam.
If twitter used monero payments to acheive the same thing, then yes, I believe it would be a great solution to spam while allowing anonymity. Lightning does not protect anonymity either. Its pseudoanonymous like bitcoin and a major flaw in nostr payments (and why I don't support the use of zaps).
What I dont get is why nostr bothers trying with verificafion, or nip05.

What's crazy is that the majority of people have no clue. When you learn about Bitcoin you begin to see the true nature of these corporations and the masters they serve.
