You would need to start fresh and anonymous. This profile will always be linked to your name now.
When you start with real ID, it is almost impossible to erase the track. Even if you are an expert. You can use a completely seperate anon accont. But then you'll have to account to mange and there's always the risk of a slip up.

I do not use my real name here or at instagram. Usually try not to reveal it. But I am quite luckly that I have most general name in my country (first name and also surname are really common in here). 😁
I might not be using my real name, but if you spend some time searching the internet, it's not too hard to figure out who I am. Using the same moniker that I use for music, I kind of debate if its been a mistake.
Its not too late. For privacy sake you may have to discard this account and start fresh without your name. The issue is never connecting those two accouts. Would need to work on all new projects not associating with old self. Real hard, but more will go this route with as our governments try to paint us as criminal for freedom money and free speech.

And the laptop. Duh. Of course you were going down in a freak boating accident. Nice move smart guy. Leave the laptop at home next time. Sorry for your loss.
We need "doxxed" people to move things forward in the real world. Being anonymous isn't easy nor possible for everyone. We all like privacy, we all want to be left alone, but most battles of consequence will require your face and your bravery.
Probably time I do this. Feels very superficial, I will miss my followers due to interaction dropping off if I create and come back with a new account. I love having my notes read and responded to. I love zapping. Would be hard to start fresh and not give away my previous account.
I think about this, too, but also know it’s easier to trust social media when you see “real” people. I think it depends on how you want the world to see you and how that affects your ability to interact with it.

I think the not being able to delete posts is one of the strongest reasons to use a nym. We’re constantly seeing people’s old tweets being dug up from 10+ years ago when the tweeting culture was completely different from what it is now. So imagine 10 years from now, if nostr has a super strong search function and has become big enough where people dig up old posts…will the culture that’s the norm here currently still hold up then? Hard to say.

Haven't posted a picture of myself on the net in over ten years and my profile pic has been something other than me for much longer. I've only started using a different name in the last 4-5 years. Don't give them anything.
Definitely not private if you use an immutable identity on it 😂😮‍💨
