Cool! How do you handle the restricted communities? Is this a new NIP?
This is too cool to be true. Is there a way to test it / give feedback prior to launch?
Name it Jingle Balls

Reddit on #Nostr incoming π₯
Do you intend to have a beta prior to a full launch?
Would love to put a quick guide together too
is the code available?
We are getting communities π

@npub1alph...6dsn have you spoken with
@Vivek ,zappedit creator?
Not yet. Got to clean up first. Will be release.
Name suggestions: Babilejo (Esperanto for "chat place") or Nostrorum (nostr + forum)
WHY? Why are we going backwards? π€¦πΌββοΈ
Because people love organized content.
Yup itβs alpha. Itβs beta. Full launch is quite far away to be honest. Some important features are not yet included. Such as zap, and uploading images.
No, it is because people are comfortable with the old ways
You don't have to use their currated content if you don't want to. That's the beauty of Nostr!
Have not. I have checked out zappedit, following tags. Kind of different here, where public and restricted communities are curated content.
It is just like saying you donβt have to shitcoin if you donβt want to. But unfortunately shitcoins soaks up all the extra funds that would have gone to #bitcoin and slowed its development. This will do the same.
Thatβs right. Itβs just another option to experience nostr. Damus, iris and all the others are still around.
And the best part is, for public community, its also using kind 1 note! Lovely nostr.
Sounds like you're upset people will have the choice to use something other than the thing you like.
Welcome to the free market of ideas on open decentralized systems.
Sweet!! Looking forward to checking it out!
Oh this will be perfect for what I was wanting to do with the "nostr tech support" group. Amazing!
Followed you
@npub1alph...6dsn π€
Congratulations on your client. happy to see another #NDK client π
I checked out the NIP last week but found a few gaps for me to create a good community experience.
Will take a look this week again to get an idea.
All the best and welcome to the nostr client world π
Follow
@npub1alph...6dsn friends.. he is working on a communities client. Let's show him some love β‘

Setup your own fucking relay. No moderator
First moderators then policies and then bans .. The animal farm circus began here
Damus, Amethyst and iris are still available for use. Here is just another way of interaction on this protocol.
Means the protocol has capability y
to ban content.Hows this is different @jack
I thought this is also all about the choice what you want and whom you want to interact.
Then don't participate in a private community. Nobody makes you join.
Just like Go there if you don't like here
Excellent idea, love seeing this implementated. Happy to contribute some ideas.
I'm no fan of censorship, but voluntary communities that are moderated and curated by individuals have a place. If I have a private group about home meat processing, there needs to be a way to excuse random shitcoin bots or assholes who aren't there to participate in the goals. This will facilitate projects and education, if you want to shit post do it anywhere else.
People question why Telegram is still used, Nostr not having a group focused client or space is why. Well done!
π Sir, are you lost? This is Nostr. I shall go wherever the fuck I please.
This simply allows you to participate in a moderated environment if you want to. Itβs not forcing censorship on anyone.
So youβre analogy is very wrong. This is more of a βgo here if youβd like to go here, or stay where you areβ
This sounds more reasonable
more like LinkedIn, reddit Join what you like. And moderators decide what you post
Let's start name and logo idea thread! I'll go first.

π
You know whatβs cool, there can even have multiple βhome meat processingβ communities managed by different groups of people, even through they use the exact same name. If you donβt like this community, just join another.
Absolutely!
Nostrum?
This is very exciting!
Cool, Iβd love to be able to contribute to the testing if I can!
All of these communities are going to need something like βNIP-34 - Algorithmic Filterβ to sort posts within the community. Hopefully that gets ironed out soon.
Gonna check that out! My background is in recommendation systems.
