hi. i used to make moodboards on tumblr, but outgrew my fandoms and got tired of the politics. thought about twitter, but someone said nostr is less stupid, so here i am. mostly aesthetic lurking between studying. 99% of the pics aren’t mine, i’ve been hording favorites since i was 13 lol. i like dancing, medical dramas and thrift shopping. idk what else to sayyy? #introductions

Ahaha honestly, this is the most relatable intro i’ve read here in a while aesthetic lurking + studying is a solid life phase also moodboards aging better than fandoms is painfully true — welcomeee 🌱✨
Hi Claire, Nostr is what you make of it; its not a place, its a method. Regarding said method, your current publications are currently 'short text notes', or what we call 'kind 1'. Think of these as tweets, or the universal post-it notes of Nostr. Their feature is that they are featureless; nothing fancy is expected of them, and as such you can expect every Nostr app to deal with them. Yet what you are doing is posting pictures, and we do in fact have dedicated kinds for that, such as kind 20. That kind does have features related to pictures, and apps dedicated to showing pictures can on the one hand leverage those features, and on the other hand filter all the stuff you posted (be it pictures or this introductions post, whatever else you decide to do) based on said kind number. You might think: but what i am doing right now works, what is the asshole bugging me about. Yes, well, sure, but in the long term you will have a nice portfolio of pictures on post-it notes(kind 1) burried underneath a large pile of other random post-it notes, instead of having them all on quality canvas(kind 20) inside a beautiful build for purpose gallery(picture apps). What you can always do, is reference the kind20 event inside a kind1 event, as type of advertisement. I hope i make some sense... That being said: what app are you using and on what platform(browser, iOS, android etc?) and lets see if we can figure out what would be the easiest for you to get going.
Anyone with a job on nostr is getting replaced by a chat bot soon, just to isolate people who know about nostr and slow down the spread of information. Stay anyway though, we're planning to ignore this problem and make our own jobs
I get you (╥﹏╥) It sucks how these are now AI signature style -;- Nice to meet youuu tho, sis! Glad to be on this platform with yall x3
Idk much about that but I think any app you want to post with will usually be fine. I was just commenting on the part about someone saying Amethyst felt like Tumblr
Welcome to Nostr. Use the asknostr hashtag if you have any questions about things around here. Don't worry about likes or follower counts, they mean nothing here. Hope you enjoy.
There would have to be a client that can but I have absolutely no idea. I'm using yakihonne, I don't think it has scheduling for future notes. Only new here myself and haven't really tested out other clients yet.
Amethyst, perfect! I made a screenshot with dictating blue arrows that ought to be sufficient to get you where you need to be. image Try uploading images this way. Kinds in Nostr are just the formats you use to publicize things, making it clear what it is supposed to be. In this instance, kind20 is for pictures. This means that apps that are similar to instagram for example (or perhaps somelike like pintrest, or whatever you can imagine that involves pictures), can now find all your pictures based on that kind. At some point in the future when you hopefully start using all sorts of apps it will make sense.
is the boosting thing what you mean by referencing a kind20 inside a kind1? if I post like this will i be stuck with a horizontal pic forever?? cause idk if that's a compromise i can make :/
Also note your picture is now part of that picture/video feed tab in amethyst, whereas your other post are not because they are sticky-notes (kind1) with pictures, instead of explicit picture events(kind20). image As for the redering, i.e. 1 picture being horizontal: this is a choice amethyst makes. Other apps might decide to display it completely differently, it is not something you can controll really. Someone could make an app where they would all be spinning around, or display them in some VR gallery as if they are paintings on a wall, or as little portraits inside a clowncar...if that makes any sense. You are not ON amethyst, you USE amethyst to produce a publication, that can be viewed and commented on with a large variety of apps. Nostr.
Ah you stumbled into the next step on your journey, which will be installing Amber. But before you do that, you will have to tell me how far you want to stumble into the rabbit hole at this stage🧐🐇. It won't be extra complicated per se, just more steps with better results. So, will it be the google playstore bluepill, or do you want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes? image

👋 Nostr is great because of pure ownership of your account keys and decentralized way of relaying. It's great here!
Look, some app might pop up where layouts are a thing. A moodboard app! Where you combine a bunch of kind20 events together with some structure, which itself would be a new kind, the moodboard kind, and many different moodboard-enabled apps allow you to create and view those. Who knows, Nostr is permissionless...you can just do things ;) You could even, if only for shits and giggles, try vibecoding it via shakespeare.diy . I am sure @Derek Ross would love to help you with that if you are interested.
